*ARC given return for an honest review
I just adored this continuation to Lexi and Kole's story, the intense love they shared for each other and the way they both were still trying to fight the demons of their past. It just seemed these demons would never leave them to be happy and kept trying to creep up to overtake their future. My heart broke so many times for Lexi and Kole in this second instalment - this really is an emotional ride with so many bumps in the road that I really didn't think they were going to make it at some point, but hoped and prayed they would.
To be honest I was even more gripped with book two. I was holding on to my kindle for dear life one minute, ugly crying the next, while swooning with the sweet romance and crying out Yes! Yes! Yes with the hot, sexy Kole moments (I can tell ya, there are many of them).
We also get to know more of Lexi and Kole's back stories and are also introduced to more family and friends, Meagan and Radley are back in full force and play a big part to this story. We also still have some of the characters that we love to hate who reared their ugly heads but this just adds to the drama and suspense of this addictive story. We are introduced to some new characters that I'm hoping are going to carry on through to book three!! *cough* Adam *winks* (military tattooed bad boy) comes to mind.
So that leads me to say I'm so excited to start book three, I cant seem to get enough of this series, and I have added C. A. Harms to my author stalking list, I don't want to miss any books from this author ever!! I know when I pick up the next book from this author I am going to get a beautifully written story with well developed characters that will draw you in from the first page and take you on a journey that leaves you breathless and wanting more.

Having just finished this series in under a week, I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed each and everyone one of these books, that ended up being a 5 star series for me. I really am going to miss being able to pick another book up from this author and I am going to be waiting with baited breath to read another one of her books.
I must say even though this is book three in the series, you could read this one as a standalone as the leading characters are not the same as book one and two. Having said this, I would definitely recommend all three books in order to fully appreciate all the characters, friendships, family and background stories. I also found this series a refreshing change as, even though the main characters changed, the previous ones still had strong roles to play in this book. Everything that happens in each of these characters lives, impacted strongly on each of their friends lives and made the reading experience even more enjoyable.
So in book three Natalie steps up as our leading lady, who we were previously introduced to as being Lexi's friend at counselling - Natalie is a broken soul who has had a bad run of it in her past. So when Lexi invites Natalie to a family party she is a little apprehensive as everyone seems to be attached and she is the only one without a plus one. This is all until (my prayers have been answered) Adam, Kate's brother makes an unwelcome visit, for some, and very welcomed by others (mainly me).
Adam is your typical Wham, Bam Thank you Mam. You know the type, love em and leave em, treat em mean and keep em keen, he fits the bill of one arrogant, manwhore!! So of course my mouth was agape most of the book, while wiping the dribble from my mouth more times than I care to admit. (What can I say? I'm a sucker for a bad boy) Having tried to make a pass at Lexi previously and failing miserably, he sets his sights on Natalie. This leads to a one night stand between the two of them that will change the course of their lives dramatically. Adam also has a damaged past which comes to light as you delve deeper into his past.
Adam and Natalie together just takes my heart through the mill. Natalie is so insecure but at the same time holds her own, she takes no crap and is always prepared to go it alone. Adam was sexy as hell from the start, even though he messes up numerous times, trying to do the right thing that only ends up being the wrong thing. He still learns how to control his feeling and channel them in the right way, to overcome he past to move onto a better future. Adam's character out of all of this series really does come into his own. His character really grows and changes, he accepts his faults and fights hammer and nail to change them and by the end he is the man you want to marry, rather than be the manwhore you want to bed for one night. *sighs*
I am so grateful to have had the chance to read C. A. Harms Desired Affliction Series, I cannot recommend it enough. If you have not read anything from this author yet start with this series, you will not be disappointed.

After rummaging around in the refrigerator, I threw something quick together. I grinned seeing the pile of Toaster Strudels in the freezer. Lexi could live on those damn things. That was one thing she stayed stocked up on. A thought crossed my mind as I plucked one from the box and placed in into the toaster. I stood eating my sandwich while I waited for hers to finish cooking.
Once it was ready I squeezed the icing on the top and made my way down the hall toward the bedroom. I slowly crawled onto the bed and pulled the sheet down carefully. Lexi had the sexiest body and I was seriously addicted to her.
Once she was exposed I dipped my finger into the icing and place a small amount onto her hardened nipple. She moaned softly and I did the same to the next. I dipped it once more making a trail down her stomach stopping just above her clit. I placed the plate onto the night stand next to the bed.

After a few deep breaths I was able to speak.
“I brought you a Strudel thing. It’s on the night stand.”
I felt her move around to grab it. I held back the laugh rising in my chest as I watched her raise the plate up. She was using the glow coming in from the street light outside to look at the plate. After a second she spoke, “Kole, did you lick off the frosting first?”
Still trying to hold back the laughter I answered her.
“Nope . I used my finger first, but I did lick it off of you.”
I hid my face in the pillow as she silently figured out what I meant.
“Kole…I’m all sticky. Go get me a wash cloth.”
I walked into the bathroom laughing. When I came back to the bed she was eating. She smiled as I began wiping her nipples slowly. I swallowed hard when I felt my cock twitch. “Lexi, I’m getting hard again.” I could just imagine her rolling her eyes at me.
“Give me the damn rag, you horn-dog.”
I laughed as I watched her clean herself up and finish her snack. When she was finished she took a drink of water and curled into my side. We were silent for a few minutes before she threw the curve ball I wasn’t expecting.
