Book Blitz: A League of her Own by Karen Rock + excerpt + giveaway
Synopsis
He was attractive, talented…and way off limits.
Heather Gadway may have been a world-class college pitcher and a top university coach, but she's a rank amateur when it comes to managing the Falcons, her father's struggling minor league team. And when it comes to managing her aggravating attraction to Garrett Wolf, their talented new pitcher. It's going to be difficult enough to make it as the first female manager in the league and prove to her overly critical father she's worthy. No distractions. No missteps. And certainly no romances with players. Everything stands between them—including their troubled pasts—even as Heather's world falls apart and Garrett's the one who's there to catch her…

Garrett groaned, longing sharpening his features. “You.”
Without waiting for her response, his lips captured hers. She knew she should push him away, but instead her head fell back, her pulse leaping in her throat. The pressure was exquisite as he nibbled and explored. Soft. Warm. Gentle. His lips moved slowly, gradually exerting more pressure.
This felt incredible. Better than the last time. She had to stop this, but need seized her, shoving aside her good intentions.
Her body hummed and a fuzzy sensation filled her head, making it hard to focus on anything but the feel of him, the evergreen scent of the forest and his aftershave heightening her senses.
His hands gripped her waist as she swayed against him, holding her as his mouth sampled her lower lip, then put pressure on the top. Nerves sent small shock waves through her chest, and her hand rose to stroke the back of his neck, making him tremble against her.
Suddenly his kiss intensified, growing fierce and demanding. His lips moved fast against hers, their tongues tangling, causing warmth to explode in her body, melting every piece of her.
She moaned and Garrett’s arms tightened, bringing her closer still. Her lips maneuvered against his in response, loving his sweet taste. Garrett shuddered, curling his fist into her hair with a groan. She loved how her touch affected him, how it affected her.
At last his lips let her go, and he looked down at her tenderly, pleasure in his eyes, his chest rising and falling hard.
“I wasn’t getting involved with anyone. Planned to focus only on baseball,” he said when his breath came easier. “But I can’t stay away from you. You follow me, even in my sleep. Your eyes.” He kissed each lid. “Your smile.” He pressed his lips to each corner. “These freckles.” His warm mouth brushed her cheeks.
Her chest expanded, taking in his beautiful words. This incredible moment. And then it hit her, reality a cold shower.
She opened her eyes and scooted away. “Garrett. I don’t know.”
His eyes moved out over the falls, tracking the sprays of water as they hit the jutting rocks and tumbled to earth. “You don’t trust me.”
Her mouth opened and closed. He was right. While he touched a chord inside that’d never sounded for anyone else, she still couldn’t put her heart in harm’s way again. And she knew without a doubt that if Garrett let her down, he’d devastate her as much as her mother had. Even more. She’d loved and lost too many times to try again, especially with her father gone so recently.
“I’m sorry,” she said inadequately as he stood and helped her to her feet.
His blank expression gave little away. She wondered if, deep down, a part of him was relieved they weren’t taking things further. He’d said he hadn’t wanted distractions. And now she wouldn’t be one.
“I can’t make you believe in me, Heather.” His voice was steady and strong. “I need someone who’ll give me a chance to earn her trust.”

Cover Reveal: Behind Your Back by Chelsea M. Cameron + teaser
Today is the cover reveal for Chelsea M. Cameron's upcoming title,
BEHIND YOUR BACK.
This book will be released in February 2015 but be sure to check out the author's note below for some special news about the release!
BLURB COMING SOON!
This past summer I traveled to Edinburgh, Scotland for a book signing. It was my first trip outside of the US and I was nervous as hell. While I was on the plane and begging for my motion sickness medication to kick in, I started thinking about a character I didn’t “know” yet. Every now and then I will get a character’s voice in my head and not have a story for them. More often than not, my books start with just one character. I don’t know where the story is going, or what they’re going to do. I only have their voice guiding me. I told myself I wasn’t going to work on anything new on my trip, since I already had existing deadlines. But of course the voice ignored me. He kept talking to me. I couldn’t resist, so I started working on his story in my gorgeous hotel room with its view of Edinburgh castle. I wrote some more words at the Elephant House, which is where J. K. Rowling started writing the first Harry Potter book. Over vegetable lasagna and jasmine tea, a story started to develop. It was different than anything I’d ever written. Told completely from a male point of view. It was also a romantic suspense, something I’d been dying to try writing, but didn’t think I had the ability to do. I called my mother in my excitement and her words were “that’s completely different than anything you’ve ever written.” This is that story. And since this story is so completely different, I’m doing something different when I release it. In February (date to be determined), you will not only get the first book on that day, Behind Your Back, you will also be able to buy the sequel, Back To Back! No weeks or months of waiting to find out what happens. You can read the two books in one day if you want. Instant gratification. I hope you fall in love with these books as much as I have while writing them.
Teaser
She wears a wig and colored
contacts the first time I see her in person. Her electric green eyes are too
memorable, even in a crowd. But underneath the plain brown wig and the brown
contacts and the bored expression she wears, something shines through that she
can’t cover up.
I recognize it right away, even if
I wouldn’t have been searching for her. Raising myself from my chair, I cross
the coffee shop. She watches her phone, pretending to be the kind of girl who
can’t abandon her Facebook page for longer than three seconds. But I know. I
know her.
Her finger hovers over the screen
of the phone, her shoulders slump, but her foot jiggles just a little bit. Not
enough for anyone but me to notice. But I see it. I see her.
I pass by her table on my way out
the door. I give her one glance. A visual brush over her body. I know she sees
me, but pretends not to. She pushes the wig back and I can just barely see the
flash of red hair at the nape of her neck, along with a tattoo. I can’t see all
of it, but I don’t need to. I know that, too.
A Celtic knot.
I pass through the door and don’t
look back. Her eyes follow me down the street to the crosswalk and until I’m out
of view.

Lover of things random and ridiculous, Jane Austen/Charlotte and Emily Bronte Fangirl, red velvet cake enthusiast, obsessive tea drinker, vegetarian, former cheerleader and world's worst video gamer. When not writing, she enjoys watching infomercials, singing in the car and tweeting (this one time, she was tweeted by Neil Gaiman). She has a degree in journalism from the University of Maine, Orono that she promptly abandoned to write about the people in her own head. More often than not, these people turn out to be just as weird as she is.

About the Author
I'm a fifty-something-young woman who lives on the Central Coast, an hour's drive north of Sydney in Australia. My little house is surrounded by bushland, possums and seed-dropping Rosellas on one side, and waterways on the other. I moved out of the big city a few years ago, and the only thing I miss about it are the quaint shops and cafes. But I've gained fresh air and a home with front and backyards--with a garden swing--and wooded hillside views.
Before becoming a writer, I was a practicing archaeologist, and was fortunate enough to have worked on some amazing digs around the world. After several years in the field I was drawn to teaching and ended up as Head of History in a local high school. While there I took the opportunity to take my students overseas to visit various archaeological sites in Europe and Britain. It was a fabulous way to combine my love of history with travel, and share it with others. On one tour, in Italy, I managed to indulge my other passion - gelato ice cream. We renamed it The Gelato Crawl of Italy!
I've always been a storyteller, but it wasn't until five years ago that I seriously ventured into writing. The result was Bloodgifted. In 2011 it was shortlisted in the Atlas Award and came fourth. In 2012 it was listed among the top ten in the Choclit Search for an Aussie Star Competition. In 2013, I was offered a publishing contract but declined in favour of going indie. I liked the idea of being in charge of my own creation.
Bloodgifted is just the start of a four-part series I've entitled, The Dantonville Legacy. Book 2, Bloodpledge, was released four months ago, and Book 3, Blood Vault, is due for release June 2015. Later I intend writing individual books on the other characters in the series, for they all have their own story.

But we all need her to believe again.Peter Pan has grown up and found the girl who left--but the stakes are higher than ever in this romantic conclusion to the story begun in Girl Lost.
Excerpt
Gwen is leaning against the window. Every time I leave her, I forget. She’s not all gangly limbs and huge eyes and dirty hair hanging in her face, flinching at her own shadow. Not anymore. That Gwen still haunts my island, but this—this Gwen is breathtaking.
She thinks she’s broken. Fractured pieces of a broken mind, held together by medication and stubborn denial. But she doesn’t see herself, not the way I do.
Lane had that right. She’s breathtaking—even now, when I know she’s sad and broken. She stands straight, a pair of thin sleep pants curving around her ass before falling loose and free to the floor. Her shoulders are back, graceful and strong, under the thick sweater she’s wearing, her hair pulled into a messy knot at the top of her head.
She can see me, my reflection in the dark glass. And I see the tension in her tighten, drawing her up and sharp, until she’s almost vibrating with it. “Why are you here?” she asks, her voice low and hoarse.
She sounds like that when she’s been crying. I know—I’ve heard her so many times, heard her tears. Wiped them away. Whispered happy thoughts until I teased a smile from her.
“Peter,” she snaps, and I jerk, out of the memories and into the moment.
“You ran away.”
She gives an unladylike snort. “You decided you were a delusion of my past, and then you expected me to sit there and listen to your insane ramblings. Thanks, but no. I can’t do that. I’ve had enough crazy for one life.” She bites her lip, and then blurts, “You stole my file, didn’t you? That’s how you know about the Boy.”
“Do you remember the firefly meadow?”
She goes still, and I smile, gently. “You do.”
“That wasn’t real,” she whispers, and I feel the shudder.
“We’d hide there, from the lsot boys. And you’d fall asleep telling me your happy thoughts, and wake up to a galaxy of fireflies, and we’d chase them until you made yourself sick, laughing. And then I’d hold you and we’d stare at the stars, and you always said they were different. It smelled like jasmine and honey-“
“And wild woods and freedom,” she whispers, her blue eyes impossibly wide in her pretty face. I take a tentative step toward her, and touch her fingers.
Why are your stars different?
“It wasn’t a delusion, Gwendy. You know it wasn’t. Trust yourself.”
She shudders. “Can’t. My mind lies. It wasn’t—“
“Gwendy,” I say, desperately. Her eyes are filling with tears and I can feel the disbelief, the way it will tear apart the world I’ve known, and the girl I’ve loved, and I can’t. I move without thinking, catch her head and bring her lips to mine.

Excerpt
“I’m not worried about tomorrow. I’m worried about right now, with you, under this Christmas tree.” Blake supported her neck as he laid her on the floor.
Livia turned her head. “You’d better convince me. So far you’ve talked about the dog going to the bathroom, trash, and dirtiness.”
Blake kissed her jaw and turned her head gently, kissing her mouth as she bit her lips together.
“Can’t I just convince you with my manly ways?” He wiggled his eyebrows.
He could, of course, do just that—but she shook her head. She loved the playful sparkle in his green eyes. His five o’clock shadow just made him more handsome, framing his kissable lips with scruff.
“Okay.” He put his fingers at the bottom of her shirt, lifting it gently so he could circle her belly button with his index finger. “You’re the sexiest, most beautiful woman on this planet. So sexy, in fact, that I had to have you. I had to make you bear my children because my universe and yours had to be combined. Everything I’ve ever been needed to be buried inside of you, so deep, so full of love that we created life. Twice.”
He lifted her shirt and kissed the tops of her breasts, whispering his devotion into her skin. “And it’s never enough. Unless I can hear you coming, I can’t think of anything else. All day every day. For years now. You’re that powerful, Livia. This. Us. It’s so intense that years haven’t cured me. I can’t stop wanting to make love to you.”
“Wow.” Livia smiled and pulled his face back to hers, kissing him and effectively stopping his beautiful words.

About the Author
Debra Anastasia is busy, just like every other mom. There's dinner, the dogs, the two kids, the two kids, and her ongoing battle with...ahem... digestive issues, which combined with her adolescent boy sense of humor makes for colorful and sometimes cringe-worthy social media updates. Her first love and crowning achievement is her thriving career as the weirdest mom on the block.
Her writing started a decent handful of years ago when--along with the animals and humans in her house--the voices of characters started whispering stories in Debra's ear. Insomnia was the gateway to plots that wouldn't give up, wouldn't let go. Now they stalk her everywhere. Halfway through making lunches, a twist takes hold and--fingers full of peanut butter--she finds somewhere, anywhere to write it down.
She's eternally grateful to Omnific Publishing, which has now published four of her books: two in the Seraphim Series and two in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Series, as well as her novella, Late Night with Andres. That one is special because 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer research. (So go get it right now, please!) She also very much appreciates her open-minded readers, who embrace everything she has to offer, with a focus on anti-heroes and bathroom humor.
Debra lives in Maryland with her family. You can find her at DebraAnastasia.com and on Twitter @Debra_Anastasia. But be prepared.

Marz was playing with fire. He damn well knew
he was. But that didn’t make him want to pull away.
He just wanted more of the heat.
Marz nuzzled the side of Emilie’s face with
his nose, his lips. She turned her face toward him and offered her lips. He
couldn’t refuse.
Capturing her mouth on a tortured groan, Marz
poured every ounce of his longing and confusion and desire into the kiss. They
grasped at each other and Emilie turned in his arms. He pinned her against the
railing and planted his hands in her hair. She opened to him and accepted his
tongue, sucking him in until Marz’s blood ran hot and his hard-on ached. He
ground himself against her and devoured every little moan and whimper and gasp
she spilled.
Trailing kisses from her mouth to her jaw to
her ear, Marz dragged a hand down her body and grasped her breast in his palm.
She cried out and her head dropped back, drawing his mouth to her neck, where he
licked and sucked and nipped as he kneaded her soft flesh. “You are so damn
sexy.”
Her hand flew to his hair and grasped the back
of his head. “Touch me,” she said. “Don’t stop touching me.”
Marz pulled away long enough to do a
three-sixty scan. The lighthouse cast a dark shadow over them, and the pier was
otherwise empty. His heart raced and his pulse hammered. He dove back in,
trailing kisses down her neck to her collarbone, which he traced with his
tongue. Her nails scratched deliciously at his scalp and her grip urged him
down.
Through the thin material of her blouse and
bra, he mouthed and flicked at her nipple. He shifted the deep vee of the
neckline to reveal a lacy royal blue bra. He tongued her through the lace until
she was panting and moaning and writhing against the railing.
“Oh, my God,” she rasped as he shifted her
shirt and moved to her other breast. This time, he tugged the lace down to bare
the deep pink of her nipple. She tasted and smelled like something fruity and
sweet, and it made Marz hunger for more. “Derek,” she gasped. “Yes, yes,
yes.”
Her palm cupped and squeezed the bulge of his
erection through his jeans. His hips jerked into the touch, craving more of her,
all of her. He groaned and it seemed to egg her on, because she pressed and
rubbed her hand against his trapped cock until he was panting and imagining
taking her down to the ground.
“Jesus, Emilie, you’re driving me fucking
crazy,” he said as he worked kisses back up her body to her mouth.
“I know just what you mean,” she said. Her
molten hot gaze met his. Eyes hooded, lips shiny and swollen, cheeks flushed,
she was a freaking goddess standing under the moonlit sky. He felt the force of
her beauty every bit as much in his chest as in his cock.
“You sure about that, babe?” he asked as he
took her mouth in a deep, wet kiss. “Because my imagination has me stripping you
of those fuck-hot jeans.”
“Yeah?” She rubbed his cock in a long stroke
with the heel of her hand. “Mine has us getting a room at the hotel back there.
So I’m sure,” she said with a smile.
Marz’s heart hammered against his breastbone
and his cock jerked, clearly liking her idea, too. Except, if he took her up on
it, he was going to end up buried inside her for as long as she’d have him. And
so long as this clusterfuck of a situation defined their relationship, he
couldn’t take things that far. Could he?
