Excerpt
I take another step toward him, building up the nerve to just do it, just kiss him. But Hemi surprises me when he takes the step that will bring us near enough to touch.
He’s so close, my chest almost brushes his every time I
inhale. I sway toward him the tiniest bit, craving the contact. With him.
A perfect stranger.
“Sloane,” he whispers, the sound of my name on his lips
bringing chills to my arms again. He
reaches out to push my hair back over my shoulder. His fingertips linger on the skin of my neck
before they fall away.
“Hemi,” I sigh, melting into the heat of his eyes. I knew there was something between us. Well,
I’d hoped. Hoped I wasn’t imagining it. But now I know I wasn’t. It’s there, staring out at me from behind his
hooded midnight eyes. Blatant and unabashed, he wants me. And I want him, too.
“You need to walk out that door and never come back.”
My heart stops. Of
all the things I thought he might say, this came out of nowhere. “What?” I ask in a small, uncertain voice.
“You need to leave.
And don’t look back.”
I scramble to recover.
“But…but what about the rest of my tattoo?”
“I’m not talking about your tattoo and you know it.”
“Then what are you
talking about?” I inquire, playing dumb to save what’s left of my crumbling
pride.
“I’m talking about you.
And me. This. Us.”
“There is no us.”
“There will be in about thirty seconds if you don’t get the
hell out of here.”
“What if I don’t want to leave?” I’m confused. Is he saying
that he wants me? Or that he wants me to
go?
“I’m not asking.”
“Why?”
“Why what?”
“Why do you want me to go?”
“Because guys like me change girls like you.”
“Girls like me?”
“Innocent girls.”
“What if I’m not that innocent?”
His lips quirk in a wry grin. “Oh, you’re exactly that innocent. I can
practically smell it on you. Sweet, pure, untouched. And, if I’m being honest, I’d like nothing
better than to taste that on the tip of my tongue.”
“Then what’s stopping you?”
I watch him wrestle with…something. “I don’t have the time or the inclination to
get involved in ruining someone else’s life.”
“What makes you think you’d ruin my life?”
“Oh, trust me. I
would.”
“But—”
“But nothing. For
tonight, I’ll be the good guy you need me to be. Whether you know you need it or not. I’m
asking you to leave, Sloane. But I
promise you—promise you—that if you
so much as darken my doorway again, I won’t let you walk back out again.”
I’m torn between heady elation and harsh rejection. “Hemi—”
“Go, little girl,” he says softly. “Go before I change my mind.”

is one damn HOT read…I FREAKIN’ LOVED IT!!!
Michelle, you've done it again!! Hemi and Sloane scorched their way off my kindle and damn near burned my
eyeballs!
Once I started ATPL I couldn’t put it down
til I’d finished at 3.25 a.m.! I laughed, drooled & dribbled, cried and shouted my way through this book. ( I may have drooled & dribbled some more) Hemi Spencer kept me away from Sons of Anarchy
and Jax Teller for over TWO weeks as all
I could think of was Hemi. And he’s STILL on my mind weeks and weeks later!!
Seeing M.
Leighton written on the front of a book is like seeing a stamped seal of
excellence. You just know you’re in for a damn good read.
I have read some awesome books by some
equally awesome authors but as soon as I read the first few lines of a M.
Leighton novel it’s like coming home from vacation. I feel safe in the
knowledge that I’m in for a great read filled with twists, tension and a SHED
load of hot sexiness.

tells the story of Sloane Locke and Hemi Spencer. They meet when Sloane,
deciding to rebel against her very protective Dad and 3 brothers (who all just
happen to be cops) on her 21st birthday, walks into Hemi’s tattoo
parlour wanting a tattoo.
Straight away you can feel their chemistry
staring to sizzle. I will never look at a tattooist’s chair or a sauna again
without having VERY improper thoughts!
Hemi recognises a kindred soul in Sloane
and agrees, against his better judgement, to her request to teach her the art
and techniques of tattooing. Hemi decides Sloane is off limits, as the young
and innocent type is not his scene. Which is unfortunate because Sloane has
decided Hemi will be the perfect man to lose her virginity to.
Hemi, realising he’s fighting a losing
battle where Sloane is concerned, decides to just go for it but warns her that
he doesn’t ‘do’ relationships…yeah, right we’ve all heard that one before!
They both hide secrets which, if exposed,
could threaten their relationship. As Sloane and Hemi begin to get closer to
each other events take a dramatic and, possibly, life-threatening twist, that
throws them even closer together. Prepare yourself for a roller coaster ride of emotions and stock up with plenty of tissues, you're gonna need them.
Sarah. I loved Sarah, Sloane’s BFF. She is
intent on helping Sloane lose her virginity. There are some hilarious, laugh
out loud moments, like when she signs Sloane up for life art sessions, as the
model! Her reason? To help her gain more confidence. Sloane’s reaction cracked
me up! I'm going to put some of her sayings on a mug, lol.
Look out for Reese, Hemi’s older brother. Although
we don’t get to see much of him be assured we WILL be seeing a whole lot more
of him in book #2, All The Pretty Poses.
Sometimes a story grips me so much I can’t
find the words to express how I feel about it and All The Pretty Lies is one of
those books, but if you need 1 good reason to 1-click buy it’s this… M.
LEIGHTON!! Go on, go and meet Sloane and
Hemi for yourself and see that I’m not wrong, you won’t regret it.
Five stars is simply not enough for this
awesomely moving, funny and sexy hot as hell book! I’ve totally fallen hook,
line and sinker for All The Pretty Lies and can’t recommend it highly enough.
Oh, did I mention Hemi’s tattoos and he’s
sexy as hell? I’m a total sucker for tattoos and piercings.

All The Pretty Lies Playlist
I've now come to expect a playlist to go alongside with every new release of Michelle's and I wasn't disappointed. To me they are more like a movie soundtrack than a playlist, they always seem to capture the mood and the essence of the story perfectly and this playlist is no exception. If you only listen to one song of the list please let it be Still Remains by Stone Temple Pilots. This is the song playing when Sloane goes back to get more work done on her tattoo. I played the song as I read and oh, it certainly added to the mood of that particular scene!
