First off let me say I have yet another book boyfriend to add to my ever growing BBL (Book Boyfriend List). Get prepared for a sexy, steamy, sad & heart-wrenching roller-coaster of a story.

We are first introduced to 19yr old Kia who is returning to her hometown a year after she left to start Uni in New York. Kia has had a very hard and sad life, in which she had to grow up quickly and take responsibilities that no child should have to go through, but this has left Kia wanting better and more out of her life. When Kia came home for the summer holidays she didn't plan on coming back and running into, with an all mighty slap, bang, face to face with, the one thing she truly ran away from in the first place!!

OOOHHH YESSS! the ever so cocky, self assured, persistent, but ever so swoon-worthy, sexy Reese Pembleton. My ovaries were doing gymnastics on my first encounter with this intense hunk of burning muscle. Reese has all these emotions running around in his head, he is angry and hurt that Kia ran off last summer without even a goodbye and is determined to convince Kia that they belong with each other no matter what.

Kia is frightened to admit to, and let go of, her true feelings for Reese. She is back home for the summer looking after her alcoholic mother, not through choice, and still needing answers as to why her dad left all the years ago when she was a small child. My heart broke for Kia at times, like when her poor excuse of a mother blamed her for her dad walking out on them, but then I was also screaming at my kindle at times, for her to just give Reese a break.

And when she did give him a break, WOW! The scenes were hot enough to steam up my kindle!!

I loved the feisty, flirty chemistry between Adam and Luce, Reese and Kia's best friends. They are hugely attracted to each other but not willing to admit, cue a hell of a lot of sexual tension. I'm hoping these two get a HEA.
Oh, and we can't forget the smexy man whore that is Jay, Kia's college friend back in New York! I'm sensing we will see much more of Jay in book 2. (swooning already)

Without giving anything away Second Chance Summer doesn't end on a cliff-hanger, but I can tell you it leaves you pining for more of each and everyone of these amazing character's stories to carry on.
