Andrea's Review
5 measly stars is not enough for this book, I want to give it so much more!!
OMIGOD!!! Kitty French, you have surpassed yourself with Knight & Stay, it knocks spots off the first book and I loved that!! I have a headache with crying, what an emotional, pull-at-the-heartstrings read, I feel like I've been put through the wringer several times.
The story picks up right where Knight & Play left off, with the scene from the hallway, and boy, we were up and running! The pace of the story was fast but not too fast that vital parts were missed out. No, I mean fast as in pulse racing, heart beating fast. I literally couldn't put it down, I even managed to read a few lines on my way for my weekly food shop (if it wasn't for the fact I had no food in the house, I wouldn't have budged from my couch, believe me)!
Sophie, struggling to come to terms with her husband's affair and her own feelings of guilt goes back to her old job and finds things haven't changed...the job is still boring and her boss is still as lecherous, so she quits and goes back to work for Lucien, because she has bills that need paying, so she tells herself.
Lucien promptly whisks Sophie off to Paris, on a business meeting and it's here that we begin to see his more softer, vulnerable side. He fights his emotions for Sophie all the way as he feels he will only end up hurting her and he'd rather die than do that.
I fell in lust with Lucien in Knight & Play but here I fell in LOVE with him. He still set me on fire with all of his Viking hotness but he also melted my heart with his vulnerability and his romantic side he insists he doesn't have. The scene where he washes her hair...*sighs* (no spoilers).
I cried so much at the end of the book I couldn't see to read the epilogue and had a headache for hours after. A beautiful and fitting end to a beautiful and seriously HOT and fantastic series. I now know how Kitty felt when she finally closed the book on Lucien Knight, I don't want to either!!
Knight & Stay is now on my all-time favourites shelf.
Go 1-click buy and see for yourself what an awesome read it is, you won't regret it, trust me!
Hold on my beautiful man. I'm coming.
Simone's Review
Oh my! What can I say my Saturday just got better when I saw a tweet from the amazing Kitty French tweeting that Knight & Stay had been released early, I could not hit that download button fast enough, and could not think of anyway other than spending my day hiking with this Viking!!
This sequel did not disappoint Lucien was hotter than hell, but you also become to know the more softer, loveable Lucien. I also loved the way Sophie became more of a stronger assertive women who fought for her sexy Viking man!
I felt like I was on a emotional roller coaster! I laughed, cried screamed at my kindle!! With twitchy knickers in the process.
Can't wait to read more from the amazing author that is Kitty French!!

My Alien Self review
If I told you I'd been to twenty-four countries (twenty-one by the time I was twenty-two), that I'd worked in Japan for nine months, toured Australia for six months, enjoyed seven months in Thailand and met and campaigned for the Orangutan in Borneo, you might think that I was pretty lucky.
If I told you I worked in the hotel industry, for a sexual health department in a hospital and with prisoners, that I'd worked as a recruitment consultant, in so many office jobs I've lost count, as well as having my own company and multiple websites, at age thirty-six, then you might think I've had an interesting life.
But if I added to the mix child rape, mental health problems, promiscuity, drug taking, alcohol abuse, eating disorders, self harm, violence, mood swings, obsession, jealousy, loss of self worth, being raised by a mentally ill mother, bankruptcy, thyroid and gastro problems and public masturbation in school at the age of nine, then I am not sure what you'd think.
But this is me; Amanda Green. This is my life, my story; my journey back to me from depression, anxiety, panic attacks, OCD and Borderline Personality Disorder-mental illness which manifested during my life and came out 'to its peak' in my thirties.
I was able to use my collection of mementos, photos, diaries, journals, letters, emails and text messages of my past to finally see who I had become that alien self and how I found the real me.

Review
I downloaded this book to read, as I have family members who are suffering with Mental Illness and have also worked in the mental health sector and was intrigued to read about someone who not only for many years suffered with this illness, but actually wrote a book about her life and what she went through to overcome it.
This story is a must read for people who have suffered mental illness or have a friend or family member going through this, or even if its just to understand and help with the stigma attached to mental illness, or just want a really great read.
I could not put this book down, I admire Amanda for her honesty to her illness and am amazed by what she achieved in her life with her jobs and her traveling to numerous countries while suffering from BPD, anxiety and OCD.
What an amazing journey I was taken on through Amanda Green's life! It's moving, exciting, sad, funny, endearing and inspiring. Even if mental illness has not touched you or others in your life this is a brilliant read, and maybe it will just make you help or just understand someone who is going through this illness.

SYNOPSIS
After recovering from mental illness and many other adversities, Amanda Green published her true story('My Alien Self: My Journey Back to Me'). This is a journey of her life during the year following publication. Dysfunctional and ever more inspiring, this memoir will take you into a whirlwind of love, humour, emotion, depression, adventures, music, animals and relationships, as she strives to stay strong and achieve a life really worth living as a childless women before her fast approaching 40th birthday. Due to flashbacks of dark scenes and sexual abuse, this memoir is for Adults only and although it's a sequel, it can easily be read as a standalone.

Synopsis
Joey
made her dad a deathbed promise that she would become a doctor, and dedicate
herself to fighting the very cancer that took his life. There’s just one problem
-three years into her pre-med classes, she's struggling to stay on top of the
curve, let alone prove she's dazzling enough to earn a spot in an Ivy League
medical school. In a Hail Mary move, she throws a basic Business 101 class into
her semester schedule, banking on a perfect score to boost her GPA.
That is,
until she’s paired for a final project with Hawk, the bartending,
motorbike-riding, gorgeously bedheaded loser who falls asleep in class and
communicates in one-word sentences.
Hawk
does whatever he wants, whenever he wants, which sets Joey on edge – in every
possible way. As they get to know each other, her urge to scream at him is
curbed only by her fantasies of tearing his clothes off. Soon those fantasies
become reality, and Joey realizes Hawk makes her feel more fully herself than
any of the rich boys her mother and sorority sisters approve of.
But the
promise to her father hangs over her head, and the harder Joey tries to succeed
in her chosen career, the faster everything falls into a hopeless tailspin of
bad grades, broken promises and guilt. It doesn't help to have Hawk sitting like
a devil on her shoulder, insisting she should be free to live however she wants
to live - like he does.
The only
thing Joey knows is that her neatly organized life is crushing her - and Hawk's
bad attitude might be the only thing that can save her.

Synopsis
Fashion
design major Cat Mitchell has a closet full of gorgeous clothes - and not a
single thing fits. After two years of runway modeling for easy cash, an accident
shattered her lower leg bone and her self-esteem in just one swift fall. Ten
months of no exercise, prescription steroids, comfort eating and yoga pants
meant returning to campus as a size twelve instead of her former size two. When
her gorgeous long-time friend with benefits sees her for the first time after
her accident and snubs her in front of all her friends, Cat’s self-image hits
rock bottom. Her sorority sisters all insist that she looks gorgeous, but all
Cat sees is the roll of her stomach when she sits down, or the dimpling at the
back of her thighs that wasn't there last year. Cat’s therapist prescribes
something radical to stop the downward spiral - nude modeling for a nearby
college's human form drawing classes. When Cat faces her fears and bares it all
for the class, she realizes that she's posing naked in front the most gorgeous,
buffest guy she's ever seen in her life. He asks her out after the class, and
after one steamy night together, Cat's absolutely smitten.
Nate’s pretty
close to perfect – he takes Cat rock climbing when he discovers that it makes
her feel strong and becomes a great chef after he learns that the perfect pesto
sauce makes her swoon. Cat starts to feel like her old self again - confident
and beautiful - as long as Nate's around. Even when he discourages her from
entering the Real Woman Project, a design competition for plus-sized apparel,
she reasons that he's just trying to prevent old body image wounds from
splitting wide open again. But when Cat goes home with Nate for Thanksgiving,
she discovers something shocking from his recent past that proves that he hasn’t
always been so encouraging of women of all shapes and sizes. Cat has no idea
what to think, but she does know one thing - this might destroy their
relationship before it's even had a chance to get off the ground.
Before Cat
can figure out whether the real Nate is the sensitive, adoring guy she fell in
love with, or an undercover asshole, she'll have to finally feel comfortable in
her own skin - even if it means leaving him forever.

Happy Birthday Caisey from MakeMyDayBookClub xx
Synopsis
After Kylie’s dad dies in a freak accident, he
leaves her with nothing other than her crazy stepmother, Darla, and the ability
to play guitar. When Darla kicks Kylie out and she loses her job all in the
same day, she hops a bus to Nashville determined to make her late father’s
dreams come true. Waitressing and saving her pennies to record a demo, her big
break comes when she’s asked to join a tour going down the tubes with once
platinum album-selling country music superstar Trace Corbin. But touring with Trace
is hardly a dream come true since he’s pretty much drinking his career down the
drain. If Kylie can’t pull Trace out of his rut, he’ll pull her and her dreams
down with him.

Teaser #2
When they reached the
sunroom, Trace was a perfect gentleman—much to her frustration. He handed her a
towel, then did not so much as glance in her direction as he stripped down to
his boxer briefs and wrapped a towel around his waist. She, on the other hand,
couldn’t get enough. The sight of his bare skin had her synapses firing like AK-47
rounds.
He was thick and muscular and
had just a hint of a farmer’s tan. Back muscles rippling with each movement
reminded Kylie of the horses her grandparents had. Something clicked in her
head as she realized what it was that had her practically panting after him. He
was loaded, like probably obscenely wealthy, but he did all the work around the
farm himself. Still took care of his sisters. Himself. Had callouses on his
hands like her daddy did, because he wasn’t afraid of hard work. Okay, and
yeah, he was hot as hell and could sing a girl’s panties right off of her.
She peeled her wet clothes
off slowly—hoping he’d turn and look, but he just picked up what she’d dropped
and darted out of the room. She kept her drenched bra and panties on and
wrapped the towel around herself. She was feeling majorly insecure due to the
“not at all interested” vibe Trace was radiating in her direction.
Kylie headed towards the
master bedroom with the intention of using that bathroom to shower, but changed
direction at the last minute. Since Trace was gone, she’d go ahead and add her
bra and panties to the laundry. Borrowing Rae’s clothes was one thing, but the
thought of wearing someone else’s underwear freaked her out.
She padded barefoot back
towards the sound of a whirring washing machine. Trace was still nowhere to
been seen when she finally found the laundry room. She dropped her towel and
tossed her bra in the machine. She had just begun to slide her underwear down
when the sharp intake of breath alerted her to the broad frame that darkened
the doorway.

TEASER
“Evenin’
y’all,” Kylie drawled into the microphone. “I had a song I was gonna sing and
then my friend Tonya, she might be your waitress, she told me it sucked—so I
guess I’m just gonna play this here guitar and see where it takes us.” She
grinned at the audience and then leaned closer to the mic once more. “Oh, and I
go right back to serving after this, so if you don’t clap when I’m finished, I
can’t be held responsible for what might happen to your drink between the bar
and your table.” Kylie winked and strummed a few cords. “Okay, here we go.”
Laughter?
Did she hear laughter? She thought she did.
I know you wanna tie me down,
know you wanna put a ring on it, but I ain’t never been that kinda girl, not
for all the money in the world.
Kylie
launched into her modified version of Trace Corbin’s latest hit, Not That Kinda Man. It was the famous bachelor’s latest lovin’
and leavin’ single and she was attempting to turn the thing on its ear. He’d
written and sang it as a sad break up ballad and Kylie had remixed and reworked
it into the single girl’s party anthem.
You wanna own me but you
don’t know me. Guess what darlin’? When you wake up I’ll be gone.
Kylie
flashed her sexiest grin and wiggled a little at the crowd. Then she shouted, “Sing
it with me girls!” into the mic and picked up the tempo, launching into the
chorus.
Several
waitresses, Tonya included, stopped what they were doing to sing along. Not
that Kylie could really see them, but the girls in the crowd joined in too. She
sang to the guitar player, whose name she was pretty sure was Andy, and he
played right along, smiling and winking at her the whole time. Well I’m not that kinda girl, don’t wanna
play these games, not gonna wake up in your bed or take your name. She gave
Andy a playful smack on the ass and he blew her a kiss. Shrieking whistles
radiated from the audience.
The
music hummed and pulsed against her and somewhere in Kylie’s mind a little
voice said, Holy shit you’re doing it!
When the
number was over, she practically flew off the stage, painfully aware of the
pounding in her chest. Oh well, if I have
a heart attack and die right this moment, I’ll die happy. The applause was
loud enough to be heard over the ringing in her ears and she wanted it more
than oxygen.
Clive
was leaning on the bar, shaking his head but smiling. Tonya shot her two thumbs
up. Kylie let out a little squeal of happiness and sent a silent thank you up
to her daddy, feeling certain she was higher than any drug could ever take her.
She
would let Tonya go home early tonight and do the rooms herself. She had enough
energy to clean ten green rooms. When she told Tonya that, the woman hugged
her. Hard. “You knocked ‘em dead, girl! That was amazing!”
“Yeah,
well, I got some really good advice,” Kylie told her, unable to keep the
permagrin off her face.
The next
act stepped out of the shadows and took the stage. Kylie heard a deep male
voice with a sexy southern drawl say, “Damn. Just my luck to have to follow
that.”
The
audience was still shrieking and screaming and Kylie knew she’d done well, but
seriously?
“I
apologize for standing y’all up a few weeks ago. Musta got my dates mixed up.
Probably time to fire that manager of mine,” the handsome man on stage drawled.
Who was
this guy? Whoever he was, the women in the audience were going crazy over him.
“Well,
since that good looking waitress stole my number, guess I’ll have to sing
something else. Where is that girl anyways?”
Oh God.
Oh God, please no. Kylie’s heart sank
and her high evaporated instantly. She turned to face the man on stage. Trace
freaking Corbin was standing there with a guitar in one hand and the other to
his eyes, scanning the crowd for…her.
