Release Blitz: Tequila High (100% Proof, book #1) by M. Leighton + 5* review

Title: Tequila High
Series: 100% Proof, book #1
Author: M. Leighton
Release Date: November 18, 2018

Synopsis

Haley Brandt isn’t the one-night-stand type, but too much tequila and a man with two sinfully dark eyes left her breathless and willing to break her own rules. Her only solace was the fact that she’d never see him again.
Until the next morning, when she finds out he’s her ride out of town and back to the ranch where she grew up.
Nixon Holt works with Haley’s father, so Haley makes her position clear—she doesn’t get involved with ranch employees. Ever.  At nineteen, she’d learned that lesson the hard way, and it became her one unbreakable rule.
But Nixon makes his position clear, too; he’s going to wear down Haley’s defenses, and he won’t stop until she breaks all her rules for him. He’s well on his way when Haley finds out the one thing that could make her hate him. Nixon is left with two choices: walk away or break all his rules for her.

Oh I loved this book, it gave me all the warm, fuzzy feels and then some!!
A fun and deliciously sexy read. It's M. Leighton at her very best.

Tequila High had me smiling practically throughout the whole book, sometimes laughing out loud and sometimes shouting in frustration. I was hooked from the first page and found it very hard to put down.

I loved Haley & Nixon, they were just perfect together. The flirty, sexy banter they shared with each other left me with a goofy grin on my face and the red hot passionate chemistry that was evident from their first encounter sizzled off the pages, leaving wanting my very own Nixon Holt. Maaan he is one sexy rancher, he definitely made my heart and temperature soar!!!

I can't get enough of this new series from this author and am waiting ever so patiently (not!) for the rest of the Brandt sisters stories. Tequila High is a quick, fun and very sexy read and I can't recommend it highly enough.

I am totally enjoying this series, it just gets better with each book and Bagging Alice has to be my favourite so far.

I love Laura Barnard's sense of humour that is present throughout all of her books that I've read so far. Bagging Alice had me laughing out loud most of the time but it also had me shouting out and shaking my head when it looked like Alice was going to do something she'd regret. Right from the beginning I was rooting for her, she was going through a really tough time thanks to her ex-boyfriend (I could've cheerfully punched him!) who had posted intimate pictures of her on the internet.

Although she came across as feisty and strong Alice was also quite vulnerable and insecure  especially where her no-good family was concerned. Her brother was another who I could've cheerfully punched too!

I have to admit that I never thought Tom was boyfriend material for anyone, never mind for Alice, but he was perfect for her. They had a great chemistry together and I loved the witty banter that flowed between them. I also loved the way Tom stood up for Alice when he eventually got his act together.

The scene stealer and star of the show, for me though, had to be Pickles the puppy. Omigod, at times I couldn't breathe for laughing over her antics. Some of the training scenes reminded me of trying to train my own dog and the way Tom and Alice bickered and argued over Pickles were hilarious!

Bagging Alice is a quick read and the perfect 'anytime' read, whether it be your holiday read lying by the pool or curled up on the sofa on a rainy day.

I can highly recommend this book but I would suggest reading the other two books in the series first to get a better understanding of the backstory of the characters and to avoid possible spoilers.

My Review

Sigh... I loved this book so much I didn’t want it to end. Such a powerful and beautifully moving story. H. A. Robinson has outdone herself with this sequel!!
I will very happily read anything this author publishes, without ever reading the blurb, as I know I will love it.

The only thing I’m going to tell you about this book is that I first fell in love with Tom when he appeared in The Pebble Jar (if you’ve not read it yet then I seriously urge you to do so before reading this!). I’ll let you read the blurb and discover what it’s about but I will tell you how Chasing The Sunrise made me feel.

When I heard Tom was getting his own story I couldn't wait to get my hands on it as I knew it would be a killer. And oh boy was I right! My emotions and my heart have taken such a battering that it’s going to take a while to recover. I now have a huge book hangover.
Tom's story had me hooked from the first page until the very last. I couldn't put it down, I had to keep reading to find out his, and Jake’s, fate even when my heart was hurting.
My heart ached so much for Tom. I felt all of his pain, loneliness and hurt so much so that when I’d stopped reading to take a breather, I looked up and was surprised to see that everything was right in my world. I became so lost in Tom’s emotions that I actually believed I was going through the same thing! THAT is truly the skill of a great writer. I adore this author’s words, her stories are so descriptive that they play out in front of you as if you’re watching a movie. The emotions are so real and raw they seep through every page weaving their way into your heart, squeezing tight and not letting go. She creates wonderful characters who behave like normal teenagers ,dealing with real teenage issues and you can't help falling in love with them.

I can't recommend Chasing The Sunrise highly enough and I waiting (im)patiently for Trix's story. Do yourself a favour and 1-click now, but make sure to stock up on plenty of tissues...you're gonna need them!

H. A. Robinson is a jet-setting billionaire with a home on each continent, who spends her free time saving kittens from trees and babies from burning buildings. A graduate of Hogwarts and a frequent visitor to Narnia, she drinks coffee in Central Perk and tames dragons on Westeros.

In her dreams…

In reality, she’s a support worker living in a small town in Cheshire, who would almost always choose fantasy over reality. She’s been an obsessive reader from the moment she picked up her first Enid Blyton book, more years ago than she cares to admit, and enjoys nothing more than getting lost in new worlds and adventures from the minds of all the amazing authors out there.
She’s had the voices of characters in her head for as long as she can remember, and puts them down on paper in order to convince herself and the men in white coats that she isn’t crazy.
