Synopsis
Since I was a boy, my desire was to marry the church. To give my vows and life over to God despite the corruption in my soul.
I am a sinner, the embodiment of temptation, or so I’ve been told.
Yet, I’ve never touched, never kissed, never sought the company of another until her.
She is my weakness, my salvation, my downfall and my freedom. Our sins are bound tighter than fate.
My name is Canaan. I am an ordained Roman Catholic priest, forever and always.
Her name is Haven. She may be my destiny, my destruction.
This is not a love story, but rather a confession of all my sins.
**Warning – A Beautiful Sin is a forbidden romance that blurs the lines between passion and religious faith.
A SNEAK PEAK
Bless me, Father, for I have sinned…
Words I’ve repeated how many times? It doesn’t matter. What matters is the confession that comes now. God and the church are my life, but sometimes we are given choices—choices that are neither good nor evil, but weigh heavily on one’s soul. Mine walks in the form of something so beautiful, she is the temptation I never thought I’d have. Or perhaps she is my salvation, my deliverance from my skeletons, the invisible chains that bind me, the very ones that have constricted my heart for far too long.
Believe me, I have no regrets, but I know I have sinned. When she stepped into my life, I didn’t see how much we would become entangled with one another—or how hard it would be to untangle those bonds. But I must admit the truth to myself, and to God.
This isn’t a love story. For that would go against my vows. Yet the sins we’ve committed could mean the end…or the beginning of everything.
Father, this is my confession…
Father, this is my confession…
Andrea's Review
*ARC received in return for an honest review
I'm becoming to expect traumatic and gripping openers from this dynamic writing duo and I certainly wasn't disappointed with A Beautiful Sin. Told in alternating POVs the first two chapters are pretty harrowing and my heart broke for the young Haven Richardson & Canaan Sullivan.
A Beautiful Sin was a slow burner for me but I loved how the story of Haven & Canaan built up and progressed, hooking you and reeling you in until the very last page.
This book evoked such a lot of different emotions in me, none of which had anything to do with the fact the plot revolves around forbidden love. You can't help who you fall in love with. The heart wants what the heart wants and Canaan's heart wanted Haven.
I have seethed with anger, shouted at my kindle, over the evilness and cruelty of certain characters, wanting to punch them right between the eyes! I have cried over the crappy hands life dealt the young Haven & Canaan and I have cheered when it seemed like things were going in the right direction.
I loved Haven. She was good for Canaan, just what he needed, even if he couldn't see it at the time. Haven was quite a strong woman in spite of the traumatic childhood she'd endured, although she still had her fair share of demons to overcome.
I want to say so much about A Beautiful Sin but I can't without revealing major spoilers.
So I'm just going to say go 1-click today and let Father Canaan Sullivan melt your heart!
A definite MUST READ, I can't recommend it highly enough.

THE PLAYLIST
One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, USA Today bestselling author, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn’t do something soon, it would be too late to write that work of fiction she had been dreaming of her whole life. So she rolled down the passenger window of her fabulous (not) company car and tossed out her leather briefcase. Luckily, the pedestrian in the direct line of fire was a dodge ball pro and had super quick reflexes enabling him to avoid getting bashed in the head. Feeling a tad guilty about the near miss, A. M. made a speedy turn down a deserted side street before tossing her crummy, outdated piece-of-you-know-what laptop out the window. She breathed a liberating sigh of relief, picked up her cell phone, called her boss, and quit her job. Grinning, she made another call to her husband and told him of her new adventure (after making sure his heart was still beating).
Other than loving writing about romance, she loves chocolate, ice cream, and coffee and swears they should be added as part of the USDA food groups.
I am the co-author of USA Today bestseller, Cruel and Beautiful. I write romance with heart and heat. Wife and mother of three, I’ve always been an avid reader. In my early years, my best friend and I would tell each other stories over the phone when we were bored. We called them our “soap operas” and generally revolved around whatever boy we liked at the time.
Over five years ago, I got this crazy idea to write a novel and try to publish it. And the rest is history. This journey has been a blessing, and a dream realized. I look forward to many more memories to come.
I write under several pen names with over a dozen titles under my various names. I have a few more up my sleeves to be revealed soon.
