Synopsis

What happens when a sassy, and beautiful psychologist butts heads and beds with a gorgeous corporate genius? A sexy throw-down you won't want to miss!
IT'S A FIGHT... TO THE MATTRESSES!

Dr. Angeline Hemming is a beautiful, sassy, no-nonsense type of girl who has risen from a difficult past to become one of Chicago’s most successful and respected criminal profilers. In exchange for free commercials to promote her favorite charitable causes, Angel answers calls and gives relationship advice on a Friday night radio program.

Alexander Avery is a gorgeous and successful corporate genius who doesn’t believe in love. When his girlfriend-of-convenience calls into Angel’s program, he is furious with the show’s host who doles out (what he considers) blind advice, without knowing all the facts… and he decides to give her a piece of his mind, and his side of the story!

When Angel informs Alex he’s the one in need of a much-deserved lesson, all hell breaks loose as these two type-A personalities battle it out for control over minds and hearts, and yes, in bed. Not only are they fighting each other at every turn, but they are also struggling to uphold the convictions they each live by.

It’s unclear who is stronger, but both must discover that to get what they desperately want, they may have to give a little… or a lot.

Author's Note: This series is meant for readers 18+ for strong sexual tension, explicit love scenes and language.

She stood up slowly and, for the first time, Alex was able to get a complete view of her body. He sucked in his breath, glancing quickly toward Darian who mouthed, I told you.
Alex’s eyes couldn’t help but follow her every move. The lime green blouse accented the black of the suit, and the short pencil skirt showed off long shapely legs while hugging the gentle swell of her hips. He couldn’t help but stare as she walked up to the stage. The skirt was short enough to give a hint of her firm thighs, yet long enough to be professional. Elegant stiletto pumps fit her style perfectly. The fitted jacket hugged her upper body, emphasizing the swell of her breasts. Perfect. Everything about her called to him, and he found himself wanting to peel back those layers of clothes to discover every inch of delicious flesh underneath. More than that, she was extremely intelligent, and he loved the playful banter that they seemed to fall into so easily.
Fucking hell. She was delicious in every sense of the word. Are you fucking kidding me with this woman, D? Alex thought. To say it aloud would be disrespectful to the other woman at that table, who was, herself, extremely attractive. “So, Miss James, how long have you known Dr. Hemming?” Alex used any opportunity to learn more.
“We met at Northwestern about six years ago. She’s a good friend. My little girl adores her.”
“You have a child? How old is she?”
“She just turned two last month.”
Angel came back to the table and started to remove her jacket, revealing that the blouse underneath was a halter style that left her shoulders and a good portion of her upper back bare. If Alex wanted to look at her, then she’d damn well give him something to see and put him in as much pain as possible.
Angel was done fucking around. Two could play at this game.
It was obvious to Angel that he desired her, and damn it all, she couldn’t help herself... he was so unbelievably sexy. It was insane, but it was exciting and frightening all at the same time, but she wanted him as well.
Watching his face as she hung the jacket over her chair, Angel noticed how his eyes narrowed in desire when he looked her over. Satisfaction spread through her like liquid gold, heat racing like fire along her skin. She reached up and pulled out the two pins holding her hair up, allowing it to tumble down her back in all its glory. Alex’s mouth opened in surprise. Bingo!

Andrea's Review

*ARC received in exchange for an honest review

What a refreshing change!

I loved this book and was hooked from the start, Alex has now joined my ever increasing list of book boyfriends.

If you're looking for a story where the very hunky, brooding alpha male beats his chest, stamps his feet and pushes his 'woman' against the nearest surface, insisting that they will be together all in the name of love, while she stamps her feet in protest, shouts that she hates him but tells herself he acts that way because he loves her then this is NOT the book for you!!

I loved the honesty between Angel and Alex. They were both strong characters and more than a match for each other, they knew what they wanted out of their relationship and weren't afraid to say. The flirty sexual chemistry between them was so hot and intense at times my kindle nearly burst into flames. I don't blame Angel one bit for falling for sexy Alex's charm, I would lie down and roll over for him ANY day!!!

Although Angel After Dark centres mostly on the relationship between Angel & Alex there is hidden danger lurking in the background threatening to come between them. (No spoilers)

There are some wonderful supporting characters in the forms of Angel's best friend Becca & her young daughter (love her), her boss at the radio station, Darian and Alex's brother, Cole. I have a feeling we are going to see a lot more of Cole in the future and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Angel After Dark is a MUST read and I can see it already being another smash hit series for Kahlen Aymes.

About the Author

I’m a single mother of one daughter, Olivia. She’s amazing in every way.

I was born in the Midwestern United States and educated at a private university where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business Administration.

I’ve always been creative with art, music, theater and writing. I decided to write a story as a way to build a network for a business venture. The reader support of my stories and my overwhelming desire to find out where my characters would take me, soon had the writing morphing the business. No one was more shocked than I. When readers began nominating my work for online awards, it took my breath away and only made me love it more. It soon became clear that writing was, and should be, my focus.
