Series: Tall, Dark and Dangerous Trilogy #1
Author: M. Leighton
Release Date: August 4, 2015

Synopsis

How would I describe myself? Well, I’m Muse Harper. I’m a twenty-something painter who loves red wine, quirky movies, and men with a fatal flaw. But that was before I met Jasper King. He became my fatal flaw. Eight months ago, I had a choice to make—abandon everything I’ve ever known to protect my family, or stay and risk someone getting hurt. I chose the former. My plan was working just fine until I found out my father had gone missing.

That’s when I met Jasper. A bounty hunter with the eyes of a tiger and the nose of a bloodhound, he was supposed to help me find my father. What I didn’t know was that meeting him was no accident. Hunting people isn’t all that Jasper does. And helping me was only part of his plan. I just wish I’d found out sooner, before my heart got involved. But even then, I don’t know if I’d have done things differently.

Now, I have another choice to make—trust the man that I’m falling in love with and hope that he’ll do the right thing, or run as far away from him as I can get. And is he strong enough to let her?

Is she strong enough to trust the most dangerous man she’s ever met? And is he strong enough to let her?

It's no secret that Michelle Leighton is one of our favourite authors at MakeMyDayBooks, add to the fact that she's a truly amazing author who has is so down to earth and is one of the sweetest people I know.
Having said this, I was of course excited to be sitting down with my kindle to dive straight in to Strong Enough, as Michelle never disappoints and every time I finish one of her books I'm always left thinking (wow she did it again, how is this even possible) but I should be used to this feeling, as it happens every time.

The prologue for me was so sad, I could feel myself tearing up, and my heart just went out to Jasper as a child straight away, but it did take me a while to warm to present day Jasper as he is so different from all the other leading a men in Michelle's books. What I mean is sure, he's tall, dark, mysterious and handsome, BUT with all Michelle's leading men they have bags of emotion, sexual tension and make you weak at the knees from the word go. Not Jasper, he's very closed off, cold, and doesn't allow himself to feel, but his next job even Jasper is not prepared for, and this comes in the form of Muse.

“She’s all sweet allure and wild abandon mixed with the irresistible tang of forbidden fruit.”

Muse was an awesome leading lady. She was sassy, sexy and very loyal to her family and the people around her. Muse dug deep to find Jasper's heart, and when she found it, she gripped it so hard and never let go, even when Jasper was fighting against her because he didn't feel he deserved her in his life, she hung on even tighter. Tagging along for the ride with Jasper and Muse, was like a pot of water heating up, cold at the beginning, then slowly heating up to simmering, to hot and steamy to finally it all getting too much and bubbling over the top in a hot mess.

I want her bad. But even when that happens, it will be with the knowledge of what's to come, of how I'll betray her. What kind of person could do that?
A monster, that's who.
And I'm that monster

Strong Enough, for me, was such a great story that had just the right mix of love, lust, emotion and mystery. A interesting plot line that is set up nicely in this story to get you ready for Tough Enough, the next instalment in the Tall, Dark and Dangerous Series. So, having said it from the beginning and, yes I know, I'm saying it again (wow she did it again how is that even possible). I'm now excited to read Tough Enough to meet more Tall, Dark and Dangerous men, that we got a small glimpse of in this book. Michelle always out does herself, her writing style is unique and beautiful, her characters always hug your heart and stay with you forever, and your always left wanting more.

WOW! is all I can pretty much say. Another awesome 5 star read from M. Leighton. I say it every time but it's true, Michelle you've outdone yourself.
Strong Enough left me guessing right until the end and left me with a massive book hangover, I didn't want it to end. This story is so different to Michelle's previous work, it has a darker feel to it than her previous novels. You can feel the emotions and danger seeping through the pages and grabbing you, making you feel Jasper's heartache, loneliness and emptiness for who, what, he has become. Making you feel Muse's strength and determination to not give up on her love for those who hold her heart. Making you grip your kindle tight and shouting out loud with nail-biting tension. I freakin' loved it!!

We first get a glimpse of the dark, dangerous and oh-so-sexy Jasper King in Always With You, the mini-series to the Bad Boys Series and I knew he was going to be one who stood out and boy, I wasn't wrong!

Jasper King is not like all of Michelle's other male leads. Jasper is a cold, calculating killer (albeit a sexy as hell killer), devoid of feeling anything. However, Jasper does have those qualities that we so love, and look forward to, in Michelle's 'men' they are just deeply hidden. All it takes is one woman, Muse Harper, to set them free. He never lets any thoughts or memories linger after an assignment, he just goes straight on to the next one. That is until he meets Muse. He doesn't reckon on her and her stubborness and attraction for men with flaws and Jasper has enough flaws for both of them.

I was gone at the prologue. Without giving too much away, the prologue begins with Jasper as a child and you see what makes the way he is and my heart broke for him, I wanted to wrap my arms around him and take away the hurt but, my heart also raced for him and I wanted to wrap my arms around him again for totally different reasons. Damn, he is one sexy assassin!
I adored Muse and her strength and the way she was determined not to give up on Jasper, even when the odds seemed stacked up against him. My heart took a bit of a battering and it hurt for her for a while (no spoilers).

I love Michelle's style of writing. She creates beautifully flawed but strong characters with explosive chemistry between them that endear them to your heart and weaves a tale that sucks you in from the first few words with enough tension, shout out loud moments, heart-breaking emotion, twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. And let's not forget the smexy scenes...they are hot enough to set your kindle alight!! Strong Enough has all of this and more.

I love, love, LOVED Jasper and Muse's story and can't recommend it highly enough.
In Muse's words, Jasper gave her 'all the feels'.Well, Strong Enough gave me all the feels too.

Strong Enough is the first in the Tall, Dark and Dangerous Trilogy and we are briefly introduced to two more sexy, dangerous men who I can't wait to see more of!!

Well, what are you waiting for? Go 1-click today and make Jasper your next book boyfriend, you'll love him as much as I do, trust me.
