Myah
I don't move as he touches his index
finger to the tip of my nose just as the bell rings.
He grabs his notebook and stands up, his
eyes still looking into mine. Then I watch in slow motion as his body
leans forward and he presses his lips to my forehead. "I'll see
you after practice, pretty girl."
Somehow I manage a nod with my mouth
undoubtedly hanging open.
I sit mute for a few seconds then ask no
one in particular, "Did Kyle Cooper just kiss me?"
Multiple voices answer with a definitive
"Yes”.
Holy hell.
Aaron stands behind me, squeezes my
shoulder, and whispers, "Nice, Wilks."
Lisa nods and utters only one word
softly, so softly it’s as if she'd witnessed something amazing…
"Wow."
"Yeah, wow."
