Simone's Review

*ARC received in return for an honest review

This is my first book by this author and I haven't read the previous books from this series, even though this story can be read as a standalone. I am already author stalking Kim Karr and adding the rest of the series to my TBR list!!

Dazed is a deliciously sweet and sexy short novella from the "Connections" Series, and I lapped it up in one sitting, this story had just the right ingredients to make it a fun, sexy, light-hearted read. Kim has a great writing style, that even though I have not read the other books in the series, I found I still connected with all the characters, and will now download all the other books to truly experience this series as Dazed has left me wanting more.

So we have Dahlia's best friend Aerie and River's very lip smacking, deliciously yummy  cousin Jagger, whose first meeting is sweet as a cupcake - with a bit of hot spice thrown in and the more this relationship cooks, it just gets hotter & hotter.

I do love a strong, kick Arse leading lady and, even though Aerie had certain issues she came through as a strong main character. She  needed  to control everything in her life which made her highly and, overly, organized. Then like an explosion to tip everything upside-down  Jagger walked into her life, bringing just the right balance of sexy, funny, good time, out of control to her life.  He showed her that sometimes you need to live a bit on the side lines and take risks to experience your hopes and dreams.

“Jagger makes me nervous and makes me laugh at the same time. I have to say he’s unlike any guy I’ve ever met-witty, smart, and so good looking.”

I just loved the way Jagger referred to Aerie as Alice in  "Alice in Wonderland"  the quotes were funny, witty and sexy all rolled into one.

“Just be careful so you don’t fall in like Alice.” He smiles, displaying his bright white teeth.
“Again, I’m sorry but I have no idea what you’re talking about.” I notice his eyes sweep over me and my heart starts pounding.
“Through the Looking Glass,” he responds in a dangerously husky voice.
This time when he speaks I catch an accent, ever so slight but extremely sexy.
So that just leaves me to say this book has left me like the title, Dazed!! So I'm off to download the rest in the series, and add the up and coming onto my TBR.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I live in Florida with my husband and four kids. I've always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, I wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. I went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise my family. I currently work part-time with my husband and full-time embracing one of my biggest passions—writing.

I wear a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer-mom, taxi driver, and the all around go-to person of the family. However, I always find time to read. One of my favorite family outings use to be taking my kids to the bookstore or the library. Today, my oldest child is in college and my twins are juniors so they no longer go with me on these outings. And although I don't need to go to the actual store anymore because I have the greatest device ever invented—a Kindle, I still do. There's nothing like a paperback. So now my four year old and I make dates out of going to the bookstore--it's time I love and cherish.

I like to believe in soulmates, kindred spirits, true friends, and Happily-Ever-Afters. I love to drink champagne, listen to music, and hopes to always stay young at heart.
