Release Blitz: Favourite Hello. Hardest Goodbye. by E.S. Carter + excerpt + 5* review

Title: Favourite Hello. Hardest Goodbye.
Author: E.S. Carter
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: April 17, 2020

Ellis.
I feel him.
Before I even lay eyes on him, I sense him.
The air in the room seems charged, my awareness of him heightened, but he is a stranger to me.
Unfamiliar, yet familiar.
Unknown, yet known.
And something inside me says, "Hello, I've been waiting for you."

Macsen.
I see him.
I've seen him a hundred times before and I know this will not be the last, but each time I do, I feel it.
That invisible tether.
I remember everything.
I remember him.
His eyes lock with mine and then move away too quickly.
I am nothing more than a stranger, another face in the crowd.
While he is my favourite hello, and my hardest goodbye.

“You’re in front of me, I can see you, but not only with my eyes. Your voice, the way you speak to me, I hear it, but not only with my ears. My body knows yours, Macs.” I rub a hand over my abdomen. "It knows you in here.” I tap my temple with my finger. “It knows you in here.” And finally, I place a palm on my chest over my heart. “And in here, in here it’s hollow, empty, waiting, always waiting.” “For what?” His words are a mere whisper of air. “For you.”

Oh my Lord, this book!! It's one of the best I've read this year, so far. I could NOT put it down, I spent all day reading, only coming up for the necessary bathroom breaks and by the end I was such a blubbering mess. Tears streaming down my face, eyes and nose bright red. God knows what the Asda delivery guy thought when he knocked on my door half an hour after I'd finished reading, he probably thought I'd been drinking heavily!

I just love this author's work and the different worlds she creates, she is a brilliant wordsmith. E.S. Carter has a way of hooking you in from the very start with her wonderfully captivating plots and doesn’t let go until the very end. Her characters, and their lives, have a habit of staying with you long after you put the book down and Ellis & Macsen are definitely no exception. I adored them and didn't want their story to end, I felt like I needed more time with them.

Favourite Hello. Hardest Goodbye. is a beautiful story of a love that is timeless. Endless. It's filled with such deep heartfelt love, gentleness and raw passion. It makes you realise that if you open your eyes, and your heart, and really see then even the impossible is possible.
Whether you're a fan of M/M genre or not, I defy you not to fall in love with Ellis and Macsen. Those men didn't just tug on my heartstrings, they yanked on them; filling my heart and damn near breaking it in the process 😭💔

I honestly can't do this book the justice it so richly deserves so I'm just going to say...1-click this baby now, you won't regret it. I absolutely loved it and cant recommend it highly enough! But be prepared for the massive book hangover that will surely follow.

My rating...

USA Today Bestselling Author, ES Carter, lives in Cardiff, South Wales—the home of castles, dragons, and folklore.

Her family joke that she was born with a book in her hand, and the urge to write stories soon followed.

At eleven, she won her school's literary prize. At ages fourteen to sixteen - her poetry phase after falling in love with Dylan Thomas and e.e. cummings - she had a few poems published, but life, love, and family overtook her dreams, and she was in her thirties when she began the scary journey of self-publishing.

Her debut and internationally best-selling series, 'Love by Numbers', are a set of interconnected stand-alone romances, all with varying themes of love. From second-chance to romantic comedy and M/M romance. These stories do not need to be read in order (apart from the opening duet Nineteen/Twenty One), in fact, she is often guilty of advising readers to start at the last book and work their way back through.

Contemporary romance is not the only genre she writes, her second series, 'The Red Order', is as dark and twisted as you can get, but there is beauty there too if you can open your eyes and look.

With many more stories bursting to be set free, she hopes you stay along for the ride.
She loves to connect with readers, so please feel free to friend/follow her on Facebook, IG, and Twitter or join her reader's group, E's Elite <3

Synopsis

The master of the tease.
The god of rock.
Frontman of the world's most desired band, Youth Gone Wild.
I'm Rhett Ryan, and I get what I want.

Women? They were lining up.
Money? I had enough.
Accolades? My shelves were full
Love? I didn't have time for that.

Not until I had no choice but to pay attention to the last woman I expected to fall for.

My beautiful, sassy publicist, Julia goddamn Speed.

She was a vital part of the band's success, and she was as off-limits as they came. I'd never wanted anything more in my life. But Julia wasn't like the rest, and my advances only pushed her further away. She was the first woman to make me work for it, and Christ, did I suddenly want to work for it!

Even if I knew it would end in disaster.

Even if I knew there would be tears.

I was willing to play dirty to make it happen.

I just had no idea how much I'd change in the process, or how something that had once been my everything would soon become nothing because I'd jumped into the forbidden with her.

Stupid, Reckless Rhett.

 Cover Model: Dave Williams
Release Date: January 6, 2020

Synopsis

“Promise you won’t break my heart, Brax.”

He promised. I believed. Brax Kent was a liar. He shattered every possible piece of me.
Several years passed before I got through an entire day without shedding a tear. My existence was hollow, empty, bleak. Hate was the only thing that pushed me through the day.

Seven years later, who turns up to be my next door neighbor? The man I despise with every ounce of my being.

And now he wants me back. With flowery words and sworn oaths full of apologies, he begs. Can this man who ruined me be trusted? Only his obstinance, persistence, and beautiful face weaken my resolve.

And I stupidly expose my heart as he wedges himself inside, bit by bit. Surrendering completely may mean absolute love, or absolute destruction.
The choice is mine. Cross the line in the sand, or stay in my safe zone.

*One Blissful Night is a complete stand alone, enemies to lovers, contemporary romance, with no cliffhanger.

Hours passed and she finally stood. I did too and said, “Reynolds, I—” Her hand flew out. “You don’t have the right to speak to me. You lost that right several hours ago. You don’t have the right to follow me, touch me, or call me. We are over.” “I need to explain.” “You must have a hearing problem. Your needs mean nothing to me.” She walked away. I followed only because she was not getting away that easy. I would not give up on us. Never again. I was on her tail and as she went to get into her car, she said, “I told you to leave me alone.” “I know. I heard. But I refuse to do that. Not until you hear me out. I deserve that much from you.” “You deserve nothing. You promised—”

My Review

One Blissful Night, the third instalment in The West Sisters series, is Reynolds' story and is an enemies to lovers/second chance romance. Although it can be read as a standalone, I'd recommend reading the others in the series first, if you haven't already. This will give you a better reading experience and avoid possible spoilers of the previous books.

This book had everything I love, and have come to expect, from a A.M. Hargrove novel...
Red hot, passionate chemistry to get you hot under more than the collar, boy was it HOT!🔥
Wonderful characters you love and wish you knew them in real life
A villain who makes you shout at your kindle and cheer at their downfall (well, I did anyway)
Enough angst to tug at your heartstrings
Author's quirky sense of humour that has you chuckling and often laughing out loud
A plot that flows so easily it hooks you from the beginning.

I really enjoyed Reynolds' story. I thought she and Brax were perfect for each other and I especially liked the slow burn to rekindle their relationship. When I wasn't cooling myself down from the scorching passionate scenes I was chuckling away at the pranks Reynolds played on Brax and the way he retaliated back. Yes, they might've seemed childish but they were sooo funny, I particularly loved Rudy the rooster. One scene I laughed out loud at wasn't a prank but it did involve a seagull, I couldn't stop laughing!!

I have loved this series and can't wait for the next book, which is Brax's brother Acer.

As I have already said, One Blissful Night ticks all the boxes for me and is a must read, I can't recommend it enough.

My Review

Omigod this book deserves so much more than 5 stars!! I read this in one sitting, it was so addictive, I couldn't put it down. It would make an amazing movie, just saying.

Six Weeks of Loving You has literally destroyed me!! I sobbed and sobbed as if I’d been told a family member had just died. I’m not exaggerating. My heart and throat hurt, my face was swollen, red and blotchy. From the last 3% of the book I could hardly see for tears, I actually had to stop reading at one point.

This is a beautiful, emotional and heart wrenching story with amazing characters who yank at your heart strings and endear themselves to your heart from the very beginning.
Karli Perrin has knocked the ball out of the park with this book, she did an outstanding job of wringing out every drop of emotion in me. I can honestly say this has to be one of my absolute top fave reads EVER and not just of this year!!!

I fell in love with Spencer & Cora, their attraction was instant and inevitable and their banter was funny, quick and adorable. They hurt my heart but they also rebuilt it.

There is so much I want to say about these wonderful characters but I'm afraid of revealing spoilers, so all I'll say is...go 1-click this awesome book. I can’t recommend it highly enough but prepare yourself for a LOT of ugly crying and a massive book hangover.

Tommy
“Does someone want to tell me what you lot are doing, sitting around like a bunch of old ladies, and for the love of God, who let that feckin dog piss all over my feckin floor?” Danny barked, making us jump.
“Shit,” Kier muttered as he looked at Driscoll. The pathetic mutt was sat next to a puddle of piss, his head tilted towards Kieran and looking like butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth.
“Sorry Danny, we were just chatting,” I said, knowing instantly that I should’ve kept my trap shut.
“Well how nice. If I’d known that, I’d have brought some cake and a pot of tea with me. As it is, I’ll just have to remind you this is a professional feckin’ boxing gym. If you want to sit around and chat, piss off down the tea rooms,” Danny said.
“What’s a tea room?” I asked.
“I think it’s like an old fashioned café, but more upmarket like,” Kier explained.
“Fuck me backwards,” Con muttered. “I’m going to be training until midnight if you two don’t shut your fuckin’ holes.”
We all turned to look at Danny. His arms were crossed and a cigarette hung from his lips as he gave us his famous death stare. We were all squirming and cracking under the pressure when he finally spoke.
“Kieran, clean up my floor and then I want five miles out of the lot of you.” This time he didn’t he raise his voice, and that was even scarier than when he shouted.
“I’ll take Driscoll with us,” Kier offered. No matter what Kier did he couldn’t train the fucker, yet Danny only had to give the dog a single command and he jumped straight to it. I could relate.
“Don’t be feckin stupid. It’s freezin’ out there. Driscoll. Office,” he ordered. The spoilt mutt licked Kier’s hand, then sashayed his canine arse all the way to Danny’s office where, no doubt, he’d lay out in front of the nice warm radiator.
“Well, what are ya waiting for. Move!” Danny barked, and we jumped to it.
“Jesus, Mary and Joseph. That mongrel of yours gets better treatment than we do,” I moaned, as we made our way to the changing room.
“You make a good point Tommy. Why don’t you go back and tell Danny how you really feel?” Kieran suggested, sarcastically.
“Don’t you have dog piss to clean?” I replied, grinning when he gave me the finger. “Besides, I might not be the sharpest tool in the box, but even I ain’t that .”
