Jill glanced over again for another look. Mr. TDTS gave new definition to the word “big.” He was more like a one-man NFL team. Dark hair, black T-shirt with short sleeves that showed off big, muscular well-defined arms covered with colorful tattoos. His jeans were well worn, and damn, did he wear them well.

Another 5* read from RL Griffin!!

I love this author's work, in my eyes she can do no wrong. am I biased? Maybe, but I don't care, she hasn't wrote a book yet that I've not loved and this latest is no exception.

As usual, and what I've come to expect, RL brings to life such wonderful and believable characters that you end up thinking of them as friends or wishing they really were your friends and find yourself wondering what they're up to long after their story has ended.

I really enjoyed the plot of Sunshine & Whiskey, it's different to what RL usually writes due to the fact it's a romantic comedy. I couldn't help laughing out loud at some of the drunk fuelled escapades of Megan and I actually related to a few of them but I'm not saying which ones!

Megan Walker, is a young lawyer on her way to the top - fast. She has her future planned out in front of her until a couple of things happen unexpectedly to change those plans, big style. It makes her look at her life and question the choices she's made and what she now wants for her future. Her best friend, Laura, has just become unemployed so they decide to take a break and go on an epic road trip stopping at places they've always wanted to visit, ending up at Napa Valley. 

Their adventure isn't short of drink, drama and hilarious incidents and the two friends meet quite a few characters along the way who become memorable for one reason or another. I found myself shouting at my kindle a few times over Megan's snake of an ex, Chad and at a few of the decisions she made that I didn't want her to make. I loved Megan's blunt no-nonsense way she had about her. She made me laugh over her choice of words and phrases she used and I loved the relationship she and Laura had with each other. They were the best of friends and didn't let anything come between their friendship, well not for long anyway.

Now, I have to mention Walker AKA Magic and Meat. Did I forget to say that Megan gives some of the people she meets funny and very fitting nicknames? Magic, who is sex on legs, had me swooning and sighing when he entered the scene. However, I do have a soft spot for a certain muscled hunk with the nickname Meat! I don't want to say anymore as I may reveal spoilers.

Sunshine & Whiskey took me on a road trip packed with humour, passion and emotion-filled drama, and I honestly can't wait to see what happens next for Megan and the gang. If you're tired of the CEO billionaire/rocker/biker/MMA plots then give yourself a treat and 1-click Sunshine & Whiskey today, I can't recommend it highly enough!

WAITING FOR YOU (Sparks in Texas)

Sydney stood next to Gran, who was flanked by Julian on the right. The three of them were standing at the international arrivals gate, grinning like fools as they held the banner Sydney had made. Chas’ flight had landed and her heart was racing a million miles an hour. She’d seen him just a few months earlier over the holidays. They’d exchanged small gifts and consumed a bottle of eggnog together. Chas had even told her a little bit about two friends he’d lost in combat, the story breaking her heart.

Chas had ended up sleeping on her couch that night, while she’d tossed and turned in her bedroom, fighting the urge to go out and comfort him. However, there had been something in his eyes—some dark, unfamiliar sadness—that had stopped her, that had told her to keep her distance.

Several more people walked through the gate. Sydney watched as relatives reunited with hugs, laughter and sometimes tears. She loved coming to the airport, loved the energy and the atmosphere, the hustle and bustle. It was a hotbed of emotions unlike any other place.

Gran captured her attention with a nudge of the elbow. “There he is.”

Chas strolled through the doors in jeans and a t-shirt. It would seem so weird to see him dressed in civilian clothing rather than his fatigues from now on, and she wondered if he’d give up the crew cut he’d kept for so many years and return to the longer style of his youth. He looked around the area, searching for them. Sydney smiled and waved when his eyes met hers.

Chas walked faster then, laughing when he read their banner. Sydney took it from Julian and Gran, stepping back so that Chas could greet his family.

She was shocked when he bypassed both of them and walked right up to her. He tugged the banner out of her hands and dropped it to the floor a split second before he grabbed her in his embrace and kissed her.

His mouth was demanding, forcing her lips apart so he could stroke her tongue with his. Sydney fought off a wave of dizziness and disbelief. Dan...

Over and over, his arousal, fuelled by her passion for him, drove him into her. He loved hearing her soft grunts in response to the force of his thrusts inside her. He tried again for innocence, but she just started laughing and shaking her head at him until he sighed loudly and tried for sad and pathetic, which just made her laugh even harder till she had to hold her sides to try and get her laughter under control before it began to hurt. “So, should I take your reaction as a maybe?”

“Stop it! Stop it, Dan! I can't breathe properly.”

He drew her into his arms and just held her gently while she tried to calm down. When he judged it was safe to continue to be his normal smart arse self again, he told her, “You don't show me a great deal of trust, do you?”

The Bedroom...

Laura moved away from the sting and hard into his groin which showed its appreciation by slowly growing against her.

“Hmm, there might be something in this physical abuse thing if you react this way.” She slowly twisted herself against his growing hardness, making it grow some more as she rubbed her softness across it. “I love a man's morning arousal. When you’re still half-asleep, it’s wonderful to feel him growing hard in response to your snuggling body.” She sighed loudly for effect. “Sadly, I only have you here and you're so nearly impotent I'll never get the punishment I really need.”
