I’m a thirty-two-year-old self-proclaimed book nerd.  Married to for nearly eleven years, my husband and I enjoy spending time with our two lovely children.  Writing is a newly acquired fun hobby for me.  In the past, I’ve enjoyed the role as a reader.  However, recently, I learned that I absolutely love taking on the creative role as the writer.  Something about determining how the story will play out intrigues me to no end.  My husband claims that it’s because I like to control things—in a way, he’s right! 

            By day, I run around from appointment to appointment, wearing many hats including, mom, wife, part-time graphic designer, blogger, networker, social media stalker, student, business owner, and book boyfriend hunter.  (It’s actually a thing—complete with pink camo.  I lurk around the internet, “researching” pictures of hot guys who fit the profile of whatever book boyfriend I’m reading or writing about)

            I guess you can blame my obsession with books on my lovely grandmother, who is quite possibly my favorite person on the planet.  At an early age, she took me to the half-priced bookstore each weekend and allowed me to choose a book.  Every single time, she caved when I begged for two.  Without her encouragement, I wouldn’t have been able to cope during some hard times without my beloved books. 

            Currently, I am finishing up my college degree that has taken me forever to complete.  It’s just on the list of my many “bucket-list” goals that I subject myself to.

            Most days, you can find me firmly planted in front of my computer.  It’s my life.  If the world ever loses power, I’d be one of the first to die—of boredom!  But I guess as long as I have books and a light, I might just survive. 

            Looking forward, you can expect to see two more novels in the Breaking the Rules Series.  I’m nearly finished with the third.  Also, I have a standalone novel that will be released soon as well. 

            This writing experience has been a blast, and I’ve met some really fabulous people along the way.  I hope my readers enjoy reading my stories as much as I do writing them.  I look forward to connecting with you all!

He's sitting in the tub, arms looped around his long legs, water pounding down on his head. When he looks up at me, long hair hanging in his startling eyes, I'm left breathless by the desolation in his gaze. I step into the little room, and walk over to the tub, ignoring the water splashing me as I crouch next to him.

"Talk to me," I say, softly.

"They don't want this," he murmurs, a manic gleam in his eyes. "They want Kreigh, and they want me, because that's what they see--but if the whole world saw me like this, they'd never want me again."

I shrug. "Maybe not. But you’d miss it."

He barks a laugh. "I'd be able to eat my lunch with a mate in public. Snog my girlfriend without being watched. I don't want this, Meggy."

I catch him by the jaw, and force his gaze up until he's staring at me. His lips are compressed, an angry line and I struggle to keep the bite out of my tone. "They are the price, Asher. You have the entire world in love with you--"

"No!" He shouts, jerking away. "They love Isaac. No one sees me!"

"I do!" I shout back. His eyes go wide and I soften my tone, leaning into his space, ignoring the water beating down on us. "I see you. We both see you."

"I'm losing myself, Meg. I'm so scared I'll get swallowed up in the crazy surrounding Isaac, and I don't know how to separate myself from it."

It's a whispered confession, almost drowned out by the sound of the water. "You keep your eyes on us."

His eyes, wide and scared, find mine, almost desperately. "What about when Kevin takes you away."

I laugh, softly and shake my head. "Do you really think I'll let him? Your mine, Ash. I'm not going anywhere." I stand, and strip out of my wet tshirt, peeling off my soaked jeans. Good thing we're arriving tomorrow--I'm running out of clean clothes and cute underwear. "Luca will be back soon."

His eyes are a little less panicked, and brighter with desire than fear--but he won't follow me out to the bedroom. He's not ready for that, and I know it. So I leave him to the shower, and go slip into an oversized tshirt, sitting on the bed and texting Kevin while I wait for the boys to come to me.

The faces changed since the last time he was there, but the intention was still the same. It wasn’t a place to socialize or partake in camaraderie or drop in for a drink on your way home. It was meeting place for men interested in casual sex. The backroom served as a shanty for a quick encounter.  You could stop in, get your rocks off and be on your way in half an hour. It was a smorgasbord of testosterone, a buffet of muscle and beefcake.

Men flocked around him as soon as he walked through the door. He played for Jessi. He always did, and it made her feel like a queen. He sat back on his knees, nodded at her and they shared a smile. The spotlight was on the two of them as he rattled of the intricate guitar solo, and she felt every pair of eyes gravitate toward her. Gooseflesh rose on her arms and the pitter-patter of her heart made her feel like a teenager. She needed to cover her lips with her fingertips in order to suppress the jubilant emotions that bubbled up inside her. “I don’t want to be involved in anyone’s game. Not his and not the label’s. That’s how I started out, and I’ve put it behind me. My career is about me. Not about him and not about whatever the label wants to spin us as. He and I are nothing and it’s going to stay that way.”

“He who?” Maude Lowenstein prompted. “If your feelings for him aren’t an issue, then how come you haven’t said his name? He’s not Voltemort, last I checked. Saying his name won’t conjure him out of thin air.”

Kylie resisted the urge to fold her arms and glare at the surprisingly sharp and callous woman in her late sixties. And to storm the hell out. She took a deep breath and shrugged.

“Trace. His name is Trace. And while I fully support his A Hand Up charity-thing, I have no interest in being involved in his benefit concert. I’ll donate a signed guitar or something. But I’m not going to it. I wasn’t even technically invited. We done here?”

She began to scoot out of the booth, but her manager reached out and put a hand on her arm.

“You were invited, Kylie. He’s having a hard time. The venue pulled out because of his rehab stay and so did some of his family-friendly sponsors. The event’s been moved to his property in Macon and his sister called me personally and invited you.”

He’s having a hard time.

The words wrapped around her heart and squeezed. Kylie swallowed and looked up at the ceiling. She sucked in a lungful of air and glanced from her agent to her manager.

“All I have to do is show up?”

The other two people at her table exchanged glances and Chaz cleared his throat.

“Um, not exactly. The label was hoping you and Trace would sing The Other Side of Me. On the tailgate of some truck that’s being donated to his charity.”

Kylie’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “Why do they want us to sing it at some benefit? I don’t see how that would make any difference to them.”

“We don’t know for sure,” Maude answered. “But if I had to make an educated guess, I’d say they’re playing with the idea of sending you two on tour together. Again.”

Trace and Kylie are back!!!!

All those months ago when I read the debut novel of an unknown author I knew then that this wouldn't be the last we'd see of Caisey Quinn and boy, was I right. I knew I loved Girl with Guitar and all of it's characters but I didn't realise how much space they'd take up in my heart. 

I couldn't wait to get stuck into the final leg of Trace & Kylie's journey but at the same time, I read Girl in Love with a heavy heart as it meant I was also going to have to say goodbye to them too.

Girl in Love picks up right where we left it at the end of  book two, Girl on Tour and oh boy, what a ride! I have shouted at my kindle so many times, "NOOO, Don't go there!!" I have wanted to bang Trace and Kylie's heads together to knock some sense into them and I have cried (oh my god I have cried) sighed and swooned my way through this emotional roller coaster of a love story.

Girl in Love is such a perfect and fitting end to Trace and Kylie's story and I, for one, want to thank Caisey Quinn from the bottom of my heart for bringing us such a wonderful series and, equally wonderfully flawed and endearing characters. I honestly don't know what do with myself now I am missing them so much already!
