My review

His Captive is the debut release from new author Emma Creed and, if this is a taste of what’s to come from this author, then I can’t wait!

I have to be honest and say I didn’t take to Ethan in the beginning. He was controlling, unfeeling, a bully and I felt uncomfortable at times over his treatment to Lysa BUT, and it's a big but, by the end he redeemed himself and won me over.

I wanted to shake Lysa as she seemed so downtrodden. Whatever was thrown at her she just accepted. However, Lisa was actually a strong, although innocent, young woman who turned out to be quite the challenge for Ethan. A challenge he needed, even if he didn't welcome it.

I love a good dark read with dangerous, dirty talking alphas and women who test their sanity; hot passion that burns through the pages and a good strong plot that holds my attention.

His Captive ticked all of those boxes and it was easy to forget this was a debut release.

I really enjoyed this book and I especially loved the danger element, my heart was pounding and I was on the edge of my seat!

If you have any triggers then this book is definitely NOT for you.

However if, like me, you like taking a walk on the darker side then take a chance on this new author. You won't regret it.

My rating...
