Excerpt

There’s a burn behind my eyes as I slide behind the wheel of my car. I knew there was a good chance she wouldn’t even talk to me, hear me out. And, although she did, I can see that she can’t forgive me. At least not now. Just the thought of her never forgiving me is what’s making my gut churn, my heart ache, and my eyes burn. It’s eating me up inside, not being with her, thinking that I’ll never be with her.
But what are my choices? I can’t really see that I have any. I’ve told her the facts, apologized to her, and asked for her forgiveness. Even told her that I loved her in a roundabout way. But none of it mattered. I didn’t know if it would. I had hoped, but I knew it was a long shot.
Now, I should just walk away. She’s made her choice, and I ought to respect it.
Only I can’t.
I can’t live with her choice. I can’t live with her unforgiveness. I can’t live without her.
So what the hell am I supposed to do?
That question rings through my head all the way back to my father’s place in Summerton where I have to go to pick up some stuff I’d left there.
It’s when I pull into the driveway, thinking of Violet when I see the place where she was dropping off her dad that day, that I realize there is something I can do. I can love her from a distance. I can do things for her, make her life better and happier, without her ever having to know. But I’ll know. I’ll know that, somewhere, she’s smiling and feeling a little happier, and that I might’ve had a small hand in it.
And as long as I can make her happy, make her life better (even without me in it), that’ll have to be enough.

When it comes to Michelle Leighton and her books, they cannot come thick and fast enough for me, I mean I'm a greedy girl when it comes to adding another BBF to my list and Michelle's books always deliver in this department and so many others. Michelle's writing style, mixed with her gripping story lines, plus the characters you fall in love with along the way, leave you floored, swooning with a massive book hangover and, of course, withdrawals until the next instalment or series. Michelle produces the most beautiful seductive covers I've ever seen, this one is no exception, but to be honest, when I get the opportunity to read one of her books, I don't need a cover or a blurb, I just know you are in for one hell of a ride that comes with twist and turns, suspense, heartfelt romance, and panty melting sex.

The Bad Boys series is one of my top series of books, But to be honest The Wild Ones
is slowly creeping up behind, as each time I read another one in this series and thinking to myself this is the best one so far......BAM!!!! Michelle swoops in with another instalment, that takes my breath away and this is exactly what There's Wild, Then There's You did to me!!

Review

I just adored Violet's character, she had the biggest heart, she wanted to just help and fix anyone who had an addictive nature or had a broken soul, her father who is an alcoholic and most weeks Violet got a phone call from the local bar to go pick him up. She also gives a lot of her time supporting Tia her friend over her sex addiction, Violet really is a person you would want as a friend, she is strong, loyal and would not leave your side when things get tough. So Violet talks Tia into attending SAA (Sex Addict Anonymous) but when Tia forgets to attend her first meeting Violet has to come up with a believable story, when put on the spot to introduce herself, the next words to leave her lips are:

“Hi, I am Violet and I am a sex addict.”

In the next breath all eyes are on her, but the only eyes she stops at are the sexy baby blues of Jet!! Oh my radar has just gone off the scale flashing sexy new BBF alert! alert!!!! His character is just screaming Hot, Broken Mess for me and the bonus of him being a rocker makes him smoking hot. So Jet being all sexy musician, used to getting what he wants, including women falling at his feet suddenly sets his sights on Violet, who is not normally his type but is intrigued by her and finds himself desperate to get to know her.

When he slides in between the steering wheel, he gives me a mischievous grin. " There's no escaping me now," he says, shifting into gear and easing out into the road. " For the next two hours, you're all mine".
As we speed off down the street, I can't help thinking that I don't mind the sound of that. Not one bit.

As Jet and Violet's relationship starts heating up, and they both have a mutual attraction for each other, they are struggling with their consciences as they are both not being honest with each other. These secrets are lurking very close behind them both, threatening to surface at any moment. Jet was ever so sweet and caring of Violet, there where times he was so sad and vulnerable my heart just broke for him. I found myself just wanting them to tell each other the truth and just get on with the sexy time!! As for Violet, I just wanted her to take a chance on Jet as both their addictions were each other and just giving each other a chance would fix them both.

"I don't need to fix the world", I reply quietly, not knowing what else to say.
"Then can you fix me? he asks, his eyes burning into mine.

"When I made love to you, I did it loving you with the heart that YOU changed."

My heart also went out to Violet's dad, he was such a sad and lonely soul, he would say hurtful things to Violet when in his drunken states, make her feel guilty for not being around. But Violet stayed by his side always trying to help him, he was her dad and she loved him unconditionally.

Tia most of the times through the book, I found that she took advantage of Violet, but as a friend that you would share a good time out with you would definitely have a BLAST!! She really did have a dirty mind and a filthy mouth to match, but I did find myself laughing at the things that came out of her mouth.

I loved that we still get a little bit of Jake and Laney from Some Like It Wild as Jet is Jake's friend, I do love it when the main characters from past instalments pop up and make an appearance, and hope this is a regular occurrence through the rest of the series.

Michelle Leighton has a writing style that grips you from the first page and leaves you with a book hanger over by the end,  flawless and beautifully written stories and memorable characters that you will laugh, cry and swoon over, so it doesn't really need me to say, but I will I definitely recommend this book, this series or anything Michelle related.

Andrea's Review

It's no secret that I adore Michelle Leighton and her work. She is one of my top authors who I 1-click buy without reading the book blurb. I don't need to, as I know I'm in for a bloody good read & most probably will suffer from a major book hangover, lasting for weeks.

Every book I finish I find myself saying she has outdone herself but this time... OMIGOD! I absolutely ADORE There's Wild, Then There's You. It has bulldozed it's way between Fragile & All The Pretty Poses and wrapped itself tightly around my heart. I absolutely love, love, LOVE Jet and Violet and you will too.

It's not often a female lead character worms their way into my heart but Violet definitely made a big impression on me, I totally love her. She has such a big heart, always there to 'fix' people. All her life she's been surrounded by people who take from her without a thought about it's affecting her. Most week nights she can be found at the local bar collecting her dad, who is too drunk to stand. He began drinking heavily after her mother left them. Her relatives see her as a 'go to' person when things go wrong or when they need something (which they often do). Her best friend, Tia, is no better. I didn't like the way Tia was with Violet, assuming Violet would always be there to help her out of a sticky situation, without a thought of how her friend felt. I got quite angry with her selfish and thoughtless ways at times.
Tia is the reason Violet finds herself alone at an Sex Addicts Anonymous meeting. Violet agrees to go with Tia to support her with her addiction but when Tia forgets to show up, Violet finds herself standing up and admitting she is a sex addict rather than looking foolish, trying to creep out during the meeting and having everyone looking at her. Tia really does care about Violet, when she's not immersed in her own problems and when it comes to fun and showing violet how to let her hair down, then Tia is your girl. She says it like it is and comes out with some gems. She more than makes up for her selfishness when Violet needs her the most.

"This is an emergency. Tonight is more than just an outing with my bestie. Tonight begins the 'Save the Vagina' campaign." ~ Tia

It's at this meeting that she meets Jet. As soon as her eyes meet his, across the room, she feels an immediate connection to him. But she can't allow herself get too close. She can't let him find out that she's a fake. However her heart, and Jet, has other plans!

The only person I'm aware of is Jet   Jet with his piercing eyes, Jet with his heart-stopping smile. Jet with his bag full of problems that somehow make him real and more attractive than any other man I've known. ~ Violet

Jet, oh where do I start with him? He is hot-as-sin, a lead singer in a band with a sexy-as-hell smile and gorgeous blue eyes. He oozes  SEX and can charm the panties right off any woman without even trying. (He can charm me ANY day! *swoons*) On the surface Jet seems like your typical hot, sexy, arrogant rocker but deep down he's got a softer and more vulnerable, tender side, especially where Violet is concerned. Jet, it seems, has his own secret and Violet can't ever find out because if she does she will never forgive him.

She stares up into my eyes and, for a second, we're just two people who are incredibly attracted to one another. We're not addicts or posers, liars or cheaters. We're not people with issues or those who keep secrets. We're just a guy and a girl who feel an undeniable chemistry. ~ Jet

I was pulled into Jet and Violet's story from the very first page until the very last. I loved the chemistry between them, they nearly over heated my kindle. Michelle is a wonderful wordsmith, with every word she writes she weaves her clever web and, BANG! you are caught up in the powerful and passionate lives of the characters. I always feel like I am there with them, taking on their emotions, being their best friend, riding that roller coaster with them and this was no exception. I shouted at my kindle each time Violet was expected to put her life on a back burner for someone else. I swooned and blushed with her every time Jet paid her a compliment and turned up the heat in their relationship, I even found myself wetting my lips with my tongue when Violet did - truth! My ovaries damn near exploded during the steamy scenes, oh my Lord, what that man can do!!! *stops to breathe and fan oneself* I want to go dancing with Jet...right now! My heart also hurt for them both as they try to keep their secrets hidden to avoid hurting each other but secrets have a way of being found out and I was in bits, I was a mess of emotion by the time I finished the book.

"I loved you when I couldn't stop."... "You changed something inside me."... "Without you, I'm empty and miserable. And more alone than I've ever felt before." ~ Jet

As I've come to expect with Michelle, there is a clever twist to the story. She never fails to disappoint, no matter what she writes.  I love the playlists that accompany Michelle's books and if you want to know how Jet sounds then listen to 'Through Glass' by Stone Sour. I listened to it when I read the scene where Jet sings that song and I melted!!

There's Wild, Then There's You maybe #3 0f Wild Ones series but it can be read as a stand alone, however there's a little treat for those of us who have read the rest of the series, when some of the previous characters are mentioned. (It was like meeting old friends, I may have had a goofy grin on my face when Jake and Laney made a brief appearance.)

I can't recommend There's Wild, Then There's You highly enough and if I had to sum it up in one word it would be, quite simply, this...BEAUTIFUL.
