Blog Tour: The Madam by M. Robinson + 5* review + teasers + giveaway

Some people need love…

I need sex, money, control, and power.

Anyone could have those four things, but only one could have VIP. Becoming Madam was never a choice for me, it was a mandated order from the most powerful woman I knew- my mother. I was born to fill her shoes, never to make mistakes, or to show weakness.

You are the product of your environment. They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree; you learn from what you see, not from what you're told. Nature vs. Nurture. I learned from it all; what I saw, what I didn't see, what I was told, and from reading between the lines.

I was raised with the belief that the world spun ONLY because of me. I held power as far back as I can remember, saw things no one ever talks about, and witnessed illegal acts of sex, drugs, and money by the time I was eighteen.

You saw a glimpse of me in VIP, now see it from the beginning. Enter my world where anything goes; no judgments, no remorse, no guilt. You play by my rules, or you don’t play at all. There are no limits to what I can do, or to what I can show you…I will ensure my legacy my any means necessary.

My name is Lilith Veronica Stone, and I am The Madam.

Warning: Book contains adult situations.
Dark content/sex/drugs/language. Mature readers only.

I want to start by saying I loved VIP and I couldn't wait to get stuck into The Madam.
When we met The Madam in VIP you just knew there had to be a reason why she was the way she was...a bitch. But a bitch with a heart (even if it was buried deep down) and boy do we find out in this sequel!! I'm still confused over my feelings of her though. Do I like her, loathe her or hate her? I don't know but one thing I do know, I can't get her out of my head.

Remember when we all watched Dallas each week, eagerly awaiting to see what stunt  J.R. Ewing would pull next to achieve his ultimate goal? He acted, usually, out of the love for his family and his family business. If some people got hurt along the way then who cares? We loved to see him do it but we also hated him for it. Well, that's kind of how I feel about The Madam, although hate is maybe too strong a word. I disliked some of her methods of achieving what she wanted but there was a part of me that felt for her, as this was the only way she knew how to be. Quite frankly she could be pretty ruthless, I certainly wouldn't want to cross her.

The Madam tells the life story of Lilith Veronica Stone who grew up surrounded by sex, money and drugs.
From the day she was born she was groomed to take over the mantel of 'Madam' from her mother but the way in which she was groomed was harsh and sometimes downright cruel. All a little girl wants, when she is hurting, is to be held in the comfort of her mother's arms and told everything will be okay. Lilith never got that. What she got was harsh words and a beating for her tears...tears meant weakness and her mother hated any sign of weakness.  Lilith grew up to have those same values, to become like her mother. Although she did have more nurturing qualities towards her VIPs than her mother ever did.

I did feel sorry for the young Lilith growing up. She adored her mother and wanted to emulate her in every way. She knew she wanted to be a VIP and, ultimately, The Madam and all it entailed...the wealth and, most importantly, the power. Lilith was brought up to believe love, above anything else, was a major sign of weakness but deep down that's all she really wanted the most. We get to see that in the friendship she develops over the years with Mika, the only person who really 'gets' her. I can't say too much without giving anything away but he is her one constant that she can't do without.

Lilith doesn't do herself any favours to ingratiate herself with the reader, she has the 'love me or hate me, I don't care' attitude and believe me there were quite a few times throughout her story that I shouted out loud in disbelief at some of the things she did. One of them being the lengths she was prepared to go to in order to get what she wanted, especially when it came to a certain VIP.

What I love about M. Robinson's style of writing is the way she doesn't pull any punches. She's not afraid to give the reader something to get their teeth into and make them think. I love the fact that the characters are so believable even if you don't like them. And the sex scenes, WOW, I nearly needed to sit in a cold bath they were so hot and steamy!

I can't really say much more without giving away the whole plot but if you've read and liked VIP then you REALLY need to read The Madam. However, if you're looking for a light and fluffy read then go find another author if not, fasten your seat belts, prepare yourself for one helluva ride and 1-click buy today.

All the way through The Madam I was rating it a 4.5 in my head but I bumped it up to 5 stars purely for the ending....genius. I now can't wait for the final book, MVP, as I need to know what The Madam does next!!

Andrea gives this a rating of...

**Before you read The Madam, be sure and read book 1: VIP**

32 year old Sebastian Vanwell, was a very successful yacht broker, who always loved the design and architecture of a luxurious boat. His only addiction was being on the water. He loved it, he thrived on it, and he needed it in his life. After a very stable, loving childhood with only a few bumps, Sebastian married the love of his life. The one person that he knew would always be there. Julia was his rock, and he loved her more than life itself. Sebastian kept his addiction to the water under control, wanting to keep his time with his wife and son his number one obsession, that was until he saw her. This new addiction haunted him, the one compulsion that he couldn't control no matter how hard he tried.

Ysabelle Telle hit him hard, knocking the wind from his lungs. Coming from worlds apart, beautiful, dark complexion Ysabelle Telle didn't have the rich, protected background that Sebastian Vanwell had. Ysabelle lived a life of hell, in poverty, growing up with a drug addict mother that never cared, and horrific living conditions. Ysabelle lived for one person and one person only; herself. She was pure perfection, her beauty along with a flawless body had men lined up, driveling over her ensuring her success as a VIP.

There are too many words that describe the effects when two diverse worlds like theirs collide. They both have too much to lose to get caught in the forceful pull, which could destroy them both.
