imageMy uncle abused me. I was 10 years old when it started. At 13 he told me I was no longer wanted because I had started to develop. At 16 I was ready to kill him. Today, I’m broken. Today, I only breathe to survive. My name’s Sergeant Major Ryan Jenkins and today, I’m ready to tell you my story.
“Master would flog me if I did, she won’t be happy when I tell her what happened here.”
“Master?”
“Stella.” Oh, Master.

image   I startle awake as I leap off the bed and sprawl on the floor. “Ry!” Mason yells from the other side of the door. I jump up off the floor and swing the bedroom door open. “You scared the shit out of me, Mason.” I run my hand over my eyes and face trying to wake up. “What do you want, man?” But I’m met with silence. When I look over at Mase, he’s staring at my body. He’s mouth’s open and his eyes are so wide. He rakes his stare down my body, then back up again. He lifts an eyebrow as he ogles me. I look down and notice I’m completely naked. I fell asleep on my bed with just the towel wrapped around me and he scared me with his bashing that now I’m standing before him totally exposed. He’s not moving away, and neither am I. “Mason.” I lower my voice as he looks up at me and just stares. He can see straight through me, totally bare and open, for him to see all my secrets. “We need to leave in an hour,” Mase says as he takes a step closer to me. I can feel his heat, and my body instantly reacts to him. Don’t be a coward Ryan, just reach out and touch him. His brown eyes turn from a hard brown into a molten chocolate as we stand a mere step apart from each other. Our breathing is labored and rapid. Mason reaches forward and brings his hand up to my chest, but before he touches me, his demeanor changes and he retracts it, dropping it beside his body. “I can’t,” he whispers as he turns away from me and goes into his bedroom. My head spins as I close my door and stand completely ashamed in my room. He doesn’t want me. Why would he? I’m broken.

Simone's Review

*ARC received in return for an honest review

This book contains M/M, M/M/F, M/F AND F/F SCENES.

Before I go on to give you my review of Yes Master, let me start off by saying this book covers some very disturbing and  intense issues, and is definitely not suitable for under 18! But having said that, even though I found parts of this story very difficult to read. Being a parent myself some of the scenes made me sick to my stomach and sometimes wanting to skip past those pages just so those images didn't keep popping up in my head.  But I stuck with it, and boy I was so glad I did. What a powerful, heartbreaking, terrifying and beautiful story that unfolded in front of my eyes.

The past can be haunting, but the future can be terrifyingly beautiful.

My heart was in pieces for Ryan through the majority of this book, he was dealt the most horrifying, disturbing hand in life at such a young vulnerable age . I was just crying out for someone to find out and protect him. Ryan is so very damaged and broken, I really didn't think there would be anyone able to fix him to help him fight his demons of his past head on. Ryan was not the hot messed-up alpha man I go for in a book, but there were plenty of times I just wanted to reach out and hug him, so very broken...a vulnerable man haunted by his past.

The lyrics of ‘Now Comes the Night’ tell me not to be afraid. But afraid is exactly what I am.
Afraid to close my eyes.
Afraid to have them open.
Afraid of all the years that were taken from me.
Afraid of the hurt that exists in every part of my broken soul.
Afraid to live.

Mason is Ryan's best friend, who just happens to be a HOT movie star!! (bonus). Mason also has had  a troubled background and fights his own demons. Mason and Ryan have a special connection and feeling for each other that neither one of them want to be the first to react on for fear of being rejected!! I'm not a fan of M/M but damn when it did finally happen Ryan and Mason were breathlessly HOT, mixed in with their beautifully deep love they had for each other, it just worked!!

Stella sorta grew on me. I did find her kinda cold and detached at first but she is one hell of a strong leading lady!
Stella is one awesome kick-ass Dominatrix you wouldn't want to mess with or then again, maybe you would!! *winks*  Stella is a doctor who ends up helping Ryan's daughter when she gets sick and arrives with Mason, in which Ryan quickly finds out is Mason's Master.. Stella and Ryan also find they have a connection, but this one is stronger than a D/s role. Stella then opens Ryan's eyes to a whole new world connected with pain and pleasure and Ryan quickly realises, if he is to go down this road with Stella, he is going to be pushed to the limits. Will this pain be to much for him or will he face his demons straight on to finally end all that haunts him from his past?

I know this story will stay with me for a very long time. I have been through so many different emotions and at times wanted to stop reading as the subject matter was so intense - the sex scenes are hard core, so be prepared!! In my opinion it's a must read, I started this book with my heart in my mouth and my stomach churning and by the end page had me crying happy tears while slightly fanning myself! Hot or What??!! I found Yes Master a book that really did push boundaries and pushed my emotions further than I am normally comfortable with. Having said that, Margaret McHeyzer has created a very creative and disturbing story but, like me, push through your boundaries and give this one a go! You will not be disappointed.  I will definitely be looking for more books by this author but I need a few days rest to nurse my book hangover.

image I don't do 'normal'. I've found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader. I take the normal and switch it around. For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it's the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I've done my job as an author I want to be. I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different. My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won't label myself because I don't like sticking to one genre. My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it's only for a split second. I'm a go with the flow sort of person and don't really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don't usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I'll be happy to accept. I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don't like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don't believe that's necessary, I mean life's hard enough as it is! I hope you enjoy my books, I've had a hoot writing them. There's more to come..... Til next time. M xx
